It looks like Claire also has been shopping at Natan:p He must make alot of money....the bag that Mathilde and Maxima has in all sorts of color and another tweed jacket in the same fabric as Maximas, a little different cut though. She looks very elegant again:)

Like the black and white outfit much better than the tweed. I know tweed is "in" this year, but I think it can be overdone (i.e. Maxima or the coat AND hat combo). I'd like to see that tweed jacket with a relaxed turtleneck and jeans on M. Does she ever wear jeans? I don't think I've seen any pictures of her relaxing!

There are pictures of Mathilde in jeans during her free time (cycling with Philippe, with Elisabeth in the garden, visiting Claire in hospital at the birth of Louise), but not so many, her private life should be private after all.

Brussels - November 15, 2004 Queen Fabiola, Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde, Princess Astrid and Prince Lorenz, Prince Laurent and Princess Claire attended a reception at the federal parliament celebrated on the occasion of the 'King's Feast'.

I like the way princess Claire looks.

I do have a question, in past celebrations, do Princess Astrid's children participate? I didn't see any pictures of them, so i am not sure if children were ever invited. Thanks in advance!

No, the children don't participate in the king's feast. Plus they had to go to school...

a few more of the Te Deum

King´s Feast 2007

As this day will be celebrated soon, I have created this post. Please post information, pictures, questions and other remarks of the event in this thread.

What exactly is Kings Feast? I have never heard of it.

It is normally about this time or end of November, i believe. I wonder if we'd see Queen Fabiola attends the event again. We have not seen her in a while already.

The kings fest is on the 15th of november.
Will be present:
queen Fabiola, Prince Filip, Princess Mathilde, Princess Astrid, Prince Lorenz, Prince Laurent, Pricess Claire

Wikipedia: King´s Feast
The King's Feast (Dutch: Koningsfeest, French: Fête du Roi) is celebrated in Belgium on November 15, since 1866. On this day, since 2001, the Belgian Federal Parliament holds a ceremony in honour of the King, in the presence of members of the Belgian Royal Family and dignitaries. Federal ministries are closed on this day. Traditionally, a Te Deum is sung on this day as well as a private occasion.
The entire wikipedia entry can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King's_Feast

The Ceremony is in honour of His Majesty, why doesnt he attend the event?Any reason for that, anyone know?

Here some pictures of earlier years:

Kings Day 2004
Kings Day 2003

They celebrate the monarch each year on November 15th, which is St. Leopold's Day. First a Te Deum in the SS Goedele and Michiels cathedral in Brussels and after that the RF visits the senate. The King and Queen are absent as they won't go celebrating themselves (always so modest, those Belgians ;))

I have seen some pix of King´s feast day on belga picture. I don´t know how to put the pix here.

Crown Prince Philippe , Queen Fabiola and Princess Mathilde leave the Saint-Gudule cathedral at the end of a Te Deum religious service

Nice to see Queen Fabiola again! Mathilde's coat and hat look rather odd, especially considering that it almost has the same colour as the cathedral so she somewhat disappears in the background. Princess Claire however looks very nice.

philippe has aged, he looks older than astrid's husband. laurent does not look well, bloated, dark circles under his eyes.
colour clothes mathilde suit those of fabiola:flowers:

Thanks for the pictures.

I really love princess Claire's outfitt and that one of princess Mathilde.
I don't like princess Astrid's clothes. She looks much older in those clothes.

PPE shows pictures of a (small) riot, what happened?

Right so this is the Belgian equivalent to Queens Day in the Netherlands. I wonder why they always choose months with such miserable weather!

Does the Belgian family go to different areas each year, as the Dutch family does, or do they always go to the same place?

I wonder if they really feel like celebrating the king this year, what with the mess with the Belgian government, or lack thereof.
