King Philippe and Queen Mathilde together with Prime Minister Charles Michel arrived at the annual World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, today, January 21. They'll participate in the forum until January 23rd.

King Philippe and Queen Mathilde received heads of Belgian diplomatic missions abroad as part of the Diplomatic Contact Days 2015 at the Royal Palace in Brussels today, February 5:

King Philippe and Queen Mathilde made a visit to the EU institutions in Brussels today, February 25. Mathilde obviously injured her knee/leg, two days ago at a meeting at the Palace nothing had been visible yet.

Mathilde had a fall that caused a problem in her knee, Palace said that she wouldn't need surgery and that she will continue her activities in crutches until she gets better ;)

The holidays weren't cancelled, only the usual photo session was as to security reasons..

Has anyone heard how Queen Mathilde injured her knee? She seems to be managing fairly well with the crutches. But, it all looks uncomfortable.

The above posted articles say that the Palace only confirmed that Queen Mathilde had fallen and hurt her knee, any more details weren't released.

Fellow member Flipje has posted a Twitter message of Belgian journalist Wim Dehandschutter (also above) who claims that Mathilde told former Belgian Prime Minister Guy Verhofstadt that she had fallen when she had picked up her kids from ski school.



Today, February 26, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde visited the Province Flemish Brabant.

The VTM Royalty programme also expressed the view she had fallen during the ski holiday. She may first have underestimated the severeness of the consequences, and appeared on one day with usual shoes etc.

Philippe and Mathilde are visiting the Council of Europe today, he is giving a speech at 12.30 CET, you can watch live HERE

Philippe has gotten SO much better at speeches!!
