Juan Carlos Brief: it was the hackneyed joke in circles of the democratic oposition (and also, curiously, in nucleuse ultra of the regime) in the final years of the Franco's regime. More than thirty years later, the king Juan Carlos, far from the predicted fleetingness, is the public figure best valued and more respected by the Spanish. A wide personal credit could be gained soon, managed to consolidate it and to extend it, and, on having done it, extended it to the own institution that takes on bodily form. It has not been the monarchic institution the one that has awarded legitimacy to the King, but the King who has provided with credit and social legitimacy to the Wreath.
