The King emphasizes that Casaus has been the " better ambassador " of the Barcelona

The King has sent a telegram of condolence to the family of the ex-vice-president of the F.C Barcelona Nicolau Casaus, who for the monarch has been " the best ambassador " of the Catalan team.

The king Juan Carlos, who is in Marivent's Palace of Palma, has transmitted in his name and in that of the Royal Family his condolences to the widow of Casaus, deceased yesterday to 94 years in Castelldefels's Barcelonian locality.

Queen Sofía Spanish Institute

In honor of the Greek heritage of Her Majesty Queen Sofía of Spain, the Queen Sofía Spanish Institute of New York is proud to announce an exhibition of photographs of Greece by Robert A. McCabe from his book, Greece: Images of an Enchanted Land, 1954-1965.

The exhibition features approximately 50 of McCabe’s black and white photographs taken during visits to the Greek Islands in the 1950s and 1960s. The images capture the people and landscapes of an era and way of life that have all but vanished in the rush tourism and development.

A number of the photographs in the exhibition were taken during the summer of 1954, the same summer that Queen Sofía met her future husband, Prince Juan Carlos of Spain, on a cruise in the Greek islands.

The King will receive next Tuesday in Marivent's Palace of Palm the prime minister, Jose Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, to celebrate the second one of both habitual offices of work during the summer, they confirmed sources of the Royal Household to EFE.

The meeting of the chiefs of the State and of the Executive will take place at 19.30 hours and, to end, Don Juan Carlos and Dona Sofía will invite to dinner on Rodríguez Zapatero and to his wife Sonsoles Espinosa in their summer residence.
 
Well, as long as I see , not all is pleasure to a King, even in his Summer Holidays! King Juan Carlos has a nice bunch of work to do! :D

I read in today's newspaper that the King and the Queen would recieve today some spanish students in Portimão, for a the Creoula Conference.

The monarch wanted to complete one more year the stay on behalf of the Saudi royal family in Marbella in a meeting of strictly private character and of comity that extended at least four hours, as reported different sources near to the palace consulted by this newspaper.
