Perhaps this fantastic news might be the next step towards the full restoration of the Hellenic royal family to this battered country. I imagine that it would be good for the Greek people, the monarchy would be a fixation of loyalty and unity for the population. Who have suffered underneath a corrupt and hollow republic for decades.

I very much doubt the Greek Royal family will be restored.

First of all it is not really a new, there is a while they live in Porto Heli, and secondly, nobody talks or thinks of any restoration, the young generation roughly know who KCII is. People have extremely serious issues, and the King is not part of their thoughts.
 
I really doubt a Restoration is impossible. The youth are not hostile to the Royal Family.

You are right, the youth are not hostile, they just ignore who really this RF is.
 
The Royal couple is at Sochi for the olympic Games.
 
Just saw king Constantine on TV at Sochi presenting medals for snowboarding silver medal to Torah bright from Australia. Was very surprised how unsteady on his feet he is and how much he relied on his walking stick.

This is quite not true.. Constantine is a former head of state -that by itself makes a statement by him distinct in importance, and unlike "the same with anyone's". Imagine the statement of a former president, in Greece or anywhere else -shouldn't that make headlines of greater importance in relation to everyone else..?

Greece has suffered too much — we must give our new leader a chance | The Times

The king thinks that Greece has suffered too much and that we need to give the new government a chance.

The interview is published while the new Greek minister Varoufakis is travelling through Europe to get support for the new governments financial policies.

Queen Anne-Marie mentions that she is happy that her children were able to grow up without media intruision and were able to follow their own carreers.

in the statement it is says , "His Majesty is always in support of democratically Elected Governments."
why I say this. Because I'm surprised of what I've seen facebook, I see that many people confuse the King with a political and they try to identify with a political party or they believe that the King should form a political party.
I liked the interview because I think he, again, says, a king is not a political party, he is not a politician, a King respects the democratically elected government.
I liked it and I liked "communist leader", because I know people who think the monarchy has been the best, of the story of Greece and that it was a very useful institution, but then their political ideology is totally contrary to the monarchy

I agree with you, Stef.

the new about that he had bought a palace in Porto Jely, is not true.He says he thought it, but their children have their lives and they do not need more space.
 
On March 25 was the day of the independence of Greece, King Constantine followed the military parade and the parade of traditional dresses from the balcony of the Hotel Bretagna.The Kings of Greece live in Porto Xeli, but when they are in Athens, they stay at the Hotel Bretagna. http://goo.gl/XczMcR

I understand that today is His Majesty's 75th birthday. I'm surprised not to have heard anything about a celebration of this significant event? Any party in London or Greece?
 
Fun fact: In the caption to the latest photo posted by Marie-Chantal on Instagram she (perhaps unknowingly) reveals that the Queen is called Amama by her grandchildren. I guess she picked it up from her great-grandmother Queen Victoria who had the same cognomen.
