King Charles & Queen Camilla - Visit to Australia and Samoa: October 2024

One of Thorpe's social media accounts showed an image of The King decapitated.

She says she didn't post it. Yeah, nah.

To coin a couple of Australianisms - strewth! Crikey!

One of the out-riders pulled up in front of a small group of us waiting for the cavalcade to leave Admiralty House this morning Durham … to block a small street just behind us.

And … I kid you not … he said “G’day Everyone“ to us.

So Australian.

They’re just putting the flags up on the Navy ships now … they’re on the Harbour in front of my street. Just gone noon.

And the live tv coverage has the Queen talking with a member of the general public who has a large green parrot sitting on his shoulder.

Caesar’s human is now being interviewed. Apparently he, the bird, has met many famous people before this encounter with the Queen.

The King met and spoke to Stolen Generation survivors at the Indigenous Centre in Redfern, which was quite moving.

And, what do indigenous representatives think of Senator Thorpe’s outburst yesterday?

The Queen visited Refettorio OzHarvest Sydney, an amazing initiative that rescues food that would otherwise be thrown away by cafes and restaurants to distribute to those in need as well as offering a meal at their cafe.

While there she was inducted into the Order of the Teaspoon and received a brooch in the shape of a crowned teaspoon from founder Ronni Kahn! Ms Kahn explained "that in the case of bush fire there are three ways to react: run away, complain, or find water. Ideally you would find a bucket, if not a jug, and failing that a teaspoon, and if everybody had a teaspoon of water it would make a difference."
