King receives military officials participating in SOFEX
Amman, May 9 (Petra)-- His Majesty King Abdullah II, on Monday, received a number of military officials, whose countries are taking part in the 11th Special Operations Forces Exhibition (SOFEX) 2016, which is specialized in the defense industry, the manufacturing of special operations equipment and national security.

King Abdullah held separate meetings, at Al Husseinyah Palace, with military commanders from the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Australia, Romania, Mexico, Belgium, South Africa and Poland.

The meetings discussed friendship and cooperation relations between Jordan and these countries in various fields, especially in military and defense spheres.

The meetings also focused on opportunities presented by SOFEX, the world's number one and the only exhibition in the region, specialized in the field of special operations equipment and national security, to set up economic and military partnerships between these countries, as well as between the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF) - Arab Army and the armies of these countries.
 

Queen chairs Royal Health Awareness Society Board of Trustees meeting


Amman, May 10 (Petra) -- Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah highlighted the importance of raising health awareness on a range of issues including the dangers of drug use, while chairing the Royal Health Awareness Society’s (RHAS) Board of Trustees meeting on Monday. The meeting reviewed the pivotal role RHAS plays in promoting healthy practices among Jordanian families, and its plans for future improvement.

The board members discussed a recent report that indicated a spike in drug use and addiction in both public and private schools, and called for an urgent awareness campaign to curb this trend.

Her Majesty commended RHAS’s various projects, which have promoted healthier practices among local communities across the kingdom, and noted that she has directly witnessed evidence of their positive influence during her visits to various organizations benefiting from the society’s programs.

Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees Dr. Rami Farraj assured Her Majesty that the Society remains committed to including a larger number of beneficiaries in its newly established programs, and reinforcing its partnerships with specialized organizations. Director of RHAS Mrs. Hanin Odeh briefed the board members on the work that has been done to improve overall health practices in schools and local communities.

King honors Parliament Speaker, MBC Group chairman


Amman, May 11 (Petra) -- His Majesty King Abdullah II, on Wednesday, bestowed top honors (Al-Kawkab Order of First Class) on Speaker of the Lower House Parliament, Atef Tarawneh, in recognition of his outstanding performance in the public work.

His Majesty also conferred the Independence Order of First Class on Chairman of the MBC Group, Sheikh Walid Al Ibrahim, in recognition of his efforts in developing the media domain in the Arab World.
 
King, Dutch monarch hail bilateral relations

Amman, May 12 (Petra)--His Majesty King Abdullah II and the King of the Netherlands, Willem-Alexander, on Thursday reviewed the strong and historic cooperation and friendship relations between the two countries and their keenness to promote them in various fields.

During a meeting on Thursday, King Abdullah said the Dutch monarch's visit was an important opportunity to build on bilateral relations to achieve common interests.

There is no official announcement yet by the RHC but the Georgetown SFS undergraduate class of 2016 commencement ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 21th at 6:00 pm EST.

I never realized until recently what a broad range between their four kids. Hussein will be 22 next month, Hashem is only 11.

Iman also attends Georgetown. Her brother studied history, what does Iman study? Great that his parents can be there for his graduation.:flowers:

King, Queen attend Crown Prince graduation ceremony

Washington, May 22 (Petra) - Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania Al-Abdullah, late Saturday attended the graduation ceremony of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein, after completing his university degree in International History at Georgetown University in Washington D.C.

The Crown Prince, who is the eldest son of King Abdullah II and Queen Rania Al Abdullah, was born in Amman on the 28th of June 1994. The Prince was named Crown Prince by a Royal Decree on the 2nd of July 2009.

The Crown Prince launched a number of initiatives including Haqiq (Achieve), a youth based initiative to advocate for volunteerism in the country and Qusai initiative, which aims at training sports therapists in Basic Life Support and First Aid.

Amman, May 29 (Petra) -- His Majesty King Abdullah II, Sunday, received His Eminence Metropolitan, Anba Antonious, on the occasion of his enthronement on the seat as the Coptic Metropolitan of Jerusalem and Jordan.


Queen checks on preparations to launch diploma program for new teachers
Amman, May 29 (Petra) -- Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah received a briefing on preparations currently under way to launch the Queen Rania Teachers Academy’s (QRTA) Initial Teacher Education professional diploma on Sunday, which is designed to prepare and empower pre-service teachers in Jordan before they begin their careers as educators.

The program is being developed in partnership with University College London Institute of Education (IOE), the Ministry of Education, and Jordan University.

IOE is one of the world’s leading centers for teaching and research in the social sciences, and has ranked first in the World for Education Research for the last two years.

King leaves on private visit
Amman, June 2 (Petra) -- His Majesty King Abdullah II, left Amman on Thursday on a private visit.

HRH Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah was sworn in as Regent in the presence of Cabinet members.
 
So they'll spend the Eid outside Jordan.

You are right dear. Last year they also attended the same forum in Sun Vally & spent most of Ramadan & Eid holiday abroad. They were out for a full month.
