Amman, Sept 4 (Petra) -- His Majesty King Abdullah II on Sunday returned home after a visit to Paris where he took part in an international conference on Libya's reconstruction hosted by France.

King orders exemption of school fees

Amman, Sept. 4 (Petra) -- His Majesty King Abdullah II on Sunday directed the government to exempt public school students across the kingdom from annual fees for the 2011-2012 scholastic year.

This is the fourth consecutive year that the government's pupils are exempted from the school fees and donations.

King visits the Royal Naval Force Command


Aqaba, Oct. 5 (Petra)--His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces on Wednesday visited the Royal Naval Force Command in Aqaba. The King, who was accompanied by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Lt. General Mashaal Mohammad Zaben, was briefed by commander of the Royal Naval Forces on duties and tasks of the force. His Majesty also toured an exhibition that featured naval boats and equipment as well as a modern fire fighting vessel. He also attended a drill that was performed by the 77 Marine Infantry Battalion. The troops displayed a high level of precision, preparedness and fitness.

Amman, Oct 9 (Petra) -- Their Majesties King Abdullah II and Queen Rania on Sunday inaugurated the Royal Academy for the Blind which was set up at an order by the King to offer education for more than 150 visually impaired students from across the Kingdom.
