Im sure Beatrixfan knows her personally

Good God no. But I do own a pair of eyes so I see what she does and draw my opinions from what I see and from what I see, she remains, IMO, a vacuous, non-entity with no talent, bog standard looks and a lazy spoiled temperament.

Wow! That is so much to conclude from watching her through the media.

But from where I stand, she hasn't betrayed much. Getting a parking ticket shows me she is just human and she dealt with it admirably, I think. I mean, it's quite humiliating receiving your ticket and being told off in front of the camera, knowing only too well that it will be publicised to the whole world.
For us, we would just creep quietly back to our family and friends.

We are missing the point of posting her current events, the only opinon that matters on Miss Middleton is the one of her boyfriend
Really? And the hardworking tax payers that will be paying for her lavish vacations, life style etc. don't have any say?

and either like you like it or not she is selling papers, and making an impression on people

Well, apparently not that good of an impression. The policeman didn't even know who she was...

Where is your proof that the tax payers are paying for her lavish vacations, life style, etc.?

I said, "WILL" meaning IF she WERE to marry William. As of right now, her mommy and daddy pay for her lifestyle, since just recently she hadn't worked since she graduated.

Then I stand corrected.

But that just makes all the criticism regarding her lack of work, lavish lifestyle, vacations and even the parking ticket a tad more ridiculous IMO. She is a private citizen who happens to date a royal. While the British public definitely has a right to say/judge what they are paying for....in reality....as long as she isn't rude, loud, does the required engagements, produces an heir, obnoxious and loves and supports her husband.....I think they will go for her. Boring or lack of a work eithic notwithstanding. For the record, I am not a Pro Kate fan, she is not that exciting to me as well but nor do I see her as a reincarnation of the devil.

Wouldn't it be interesting in 5 years, and William is married to someone else, that we look back at these threads with wonder? Honestly, based on what some of the women that Charles dated prior to marrying Diana and Camilla, and what those two went thru, as well as Kate (not the mention Andrew and Edward's previous girlfriends) ....its a wonder ANYONE wants to marry into this family. The public and press are cruel beyond words.

That's my view of the matter, basically.

It seems like someone else is always going to pay Kate's way IF she ends up marrying William. She was, until recently, being paid for by her wealthy parents, who still largely support her lifestyle since she doesn't work enough (4 days a week) or make enough money to afford the lavish life she leads. She will be taken care of by either William, the Duchy of Cornwall or the British taxpayers IF she were to end up William's wife. Must be nice.

Actually no the taxpayers don't have a say in who William chooses to marry.

Whomever he chooses to marry will be his decision and his decision alone and the taxpayers can accept that or reject his decision by removing the monarchy completely.

Ladies, the discussion about the parking ticket was left discarded several posts ago.

Let's bring this discussion back to Kate's Current Events please.

We realize that Kate's not doing much exciting now besides getting a parking ticket and that's not very exciting but we can't do anything about that.

Thanks.

Well, she is a law breaker. If we want to be technical - she has broken the law. Ok, I've broken the law before now. But I'm not dating Prince William.

My, my, my, must you all be bored if such a minor offense does tick off so many remarks here - not only from you, BF, but from other's as well.

If I read the story correctly, it was not by purpose that Kate "broke the law" but the speciafic law for that area changed and parking privileges for people who live there were removed. Catherine did not realize this and was fined. The fact that a traffic warden was there tells me that those people who decided to change the parking rules decided to make a profit from it by controlling this area. IMHO this makes Catherine more of a victim than anything else. It's no question of guilt, criminal intent or malice aforethought!

She now has six protection officers and of course this story puts Kate in the best possible light, again, which she does not deserve.

I don't buy this story. It's nothing easier then take a picture of Catherine with a police woman and then publis a pic of a police car with any VW and say it's actually Catherine. Do other papers support that claim? Did the police comment on it yet?

Hear, hear!

I think it's a general sentiment by some (not necessarily here, but in general), that she's not appropriate for William, and those people will find ANY reason, no matter how trivial [and this is the definition of trivial], to cut her down. To be frank, I think it's laughable.

Just to remind you that as far as I can see, BF is the only British taxpayer here weeping after taxes not yet spent on Ms. Middleton. Her other "fans" are from the States, mostly.

I'm not weeping over taxes I'm just saying that if I'm paying for this girl, which I am, then I'm entitled to criticise her as much as any other public figure paid for by my hard earned money. It's interesting that you say most of her fans are from the States. They do seem to be and I wonder how they'd feel if they were paying for her.

I wouldn't feel much of anything given the ridiculous things the governments on either side of the Atlantic manage to blow money on. This is nothing.

1. Taxpayers, if she and William marry, will pay the same amount towards their holidays, as they did for Charles and Diana when they were married and less than they paid for the same p'sofW, after her unofficial split from Charles. The British Taxpayers never have much say in who they pay for within the royal family or after they leave it. You BF should be used to it by now.

2. The traffic warden, (in no way should they be mistaken for police officers!) IMO, knew exactly who she was and for all we know notified the photographers to get a picture of him booking her. She smiled because she was embarassed and knew the papers would make the most of it. What did you all want her to do, burst into tears and swear it will never happen again.

Six police see kate gets to work on time

12 cops to take Kate clubbing

Will it be 18 by this evening?

Hmmmm. What's the over/under on the number of cops to take her to Waitrose tomorrow?

Probably depends on the number of paparazzi! And yes you are right, there things that the police could be doing. Its a shame that resources need to be directed to assisting Kate but then maybe the press should back off a little bit.

I have a great idea...since Kate is a private citizen who happens to date a royal....why don't we just let her fend for herself when she is walking down a street, shopping or just minding her business while out and about. Oh...and those five to ten cameraman, who are stalking her and constantly shouting out her name Kate/Catherine to get her attention and take pictures. Well, who cares if they are possibly evading her space and might cause personal harm to her. OR she can just quit her job, sit in her house all day and wait for William to call her when he is ready to go out. Then she can have legitimate protection because when she is with him...there are always guards around.

Does anyone remember the way the press used to hound Diana, Sarah, Sophie and Camilla before they got married? Cause I do..and it wasn't pretty. I am a little confused on what people want from her.

In fairness, William was also at the club, the police were probably there for him. Although six guards assigned to her does seem excessive, particularly as the article seems to say that William only had / has two with him originally.

You BF should be used to it by now.

I'm used to it and I'm not complaining. I'm just saying that if I'm paying for Kate Middleton, I have a right to criticise her. People seem to be saying that I have no right to criticise her - well, I do seeing as when I go to work, part of the wage I take home will go to Kate even it works out to be 000000000.9 of a half penny.

Yes, but does the article state how many paparazzi were in attendance? What's the acceptable ratio of camerman vs police escort?

And for that matter (this is not to pick on you Star84 but a general observation)...does anyone really think that newspaper really knows how many people are protecting William? I am sure they saw two....but who knows how many are really protecting him?
