A lovely video of Estelle and Oscar who got a flag lesson prior to tomorrow's National Day:

Tomorrow is National Day! Before June 6, Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar met Sergeant Major Johannes Öhneskog with soldiers from H.M. The King's Life Company at the Life Guard for a "flag school".The Princess and the Prince learned, among other things, how to handle our common national symbol in the best way, including how to lift, haul and fold it correctly.

Such a lovely 'flag class' for the princess and prince.

The King and Queen are tomorrow in Pajala, over 1100 km from Stockholm.
After lunch, they go straight track back to Stockholm and the traditional cortege to Skansen, and for everything to go smoothly, the day is planned down to the last detail.
Ulrica Hammarström, Chair of the Executive Committee in Pajala, made a test drive at the route "at legal speed". The estimated delay was 10-15 minutes, something which could create major problems for the King and Queen's schedule, so the court asked the County Administrative Board to investigate whether they could get "help from the direction of the police" so that the royal couple's visit would not have to be cut short. Säpo has also been involved in solving the problem, everything should be in order now.

The King said at his speech in Pajala among other things:
"Just as we are proud of our country today and everything we stand for, you should be proud of Pajala.
After all, Sweden became independent on June 6, 1523. In the same century, the settler Lasse Pajanen settled here and gave his name to Pajala parish. Now you are a multicultural municipality characterized by tradition and renewal - to both preserve and develop."

Victoria said at her speech in Nykvarn among other things:
"When we celebrate our national day today, we also pay tribute to all that we have achieved in the form of democracy and justice, peace and freedom. These are values that must always be protected and that can never be taken for granted.
We are all involved in shaping our society. To build on the Sweden that previous generations have created and on the values that make our country so unique. A community in openness. In tolerance. And in caring for each other. It is these values that bind us together and that make us strong."

Expressen's article about the King and Queen in Pajala:
Emma Kero, CEO of Kero Leather, showed a picture from the 70s when children from Sattajärvi visited Stockholm and met a slightly younger king.
- You recognize yourself, the king laughed at the picture.

Carl Philip and Sofia arrived to Skansen by car, not at the cortege. Last year was the first time when only the royal couple and the crown princess family arrived at the cortege.

The cortege started at 17.50 and the concert at Skansen starts at 18.30.
SVT1 and SVT Play show the concert delayed, it starts at 20.00. Link to the broadcast:

King Carl Gustaf spoke at his speech at Skansen a lot about the Nordic community:
"This year, Sweden is chairman of the Nordic Council of Ministers – the cooperation body of the Nordic governments. And during the spring, we received state visits from both Finland and Denmark. We can state that our countries are closer to each other than ever before.
The Nordic region is not just a geographical area in northern Europe. It is a heart that beats in rhythm with a desire for peace and freedom. Instead of being deterred by Russia's attack on Ukraine, Sweden and Finland quickly decided to join NATO. Now the entire Nordic region is part of the alliance.
The Nordic community is also characterized by our love for nature. To the dramatic landscapes of Iceland, the deep fjords of Norway, the crystal clear lakes of Finland, and the rolling fields of Denmark. And to the quiet forests, the high mountains, and the green meadows of our Sweden."

Victoria and Daniel met in Nykvarn the the Schiwa family, who celebrated that their daughter became a Swedish citizen.
