Did Queen Eleanor of Provence save England for her husband King Henry III?

Eleanor of Provence was a politically active queen who had also been appointed Regent of England during her husbands French campaigns in 1253.

Her popularity suffered because of her insistence at collecting the queen-gold!
She has been regarded by many historians as the most unpopular queen (consort) in England
