You are welcome. ?

Truth to be told the photos are not necessarily from Trend, but they look like the area around Trend. I've been there on several occasions.

I wrote more about Trend and surroundings in this post: http://www.theroyalforums.com/forum...y-2016-august-2016-a-39996-7.html#post1901325
This description is however mostly about how it looks during the summer. But Trend really is a lovely spot, so no wonder M&F are fond of going there.
And it's likely they will visit Birkelse Gods and Frijsenborg Slot, while they are at Trend. They've got friends living there.
Both these places are described in the general residences thread BTW.

Thanks again Muhler. I'll take a read of your post when I have more time on my hands!

Very much so. Plenty of opportunities for walks, jogging, riding mountain bikes, bird-spotting (Frederik is fond of teaching his children about the wildlife) - and getting soaked! - Because it's raining and grey weather.

But when the sun is shining the woods are beautiful at this time of year.

A lot of the area around Trend is plantation, for foresting, mainly fir and pine, but also other tree sorts: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/6/63/Efterår_i_Mollerup_Skov.jpg

It's also season for mushrooms and there are many this year. But some are dangerous. A refugee family from Congo went out and picked the wrong mushrooms, so far tragically two from that family, aged 5 and 15, have died.

Daylight is down to 10 hours now, but it's still pretty warm for October, some 12-16 degrees C (52-59 F) at noon.
In two at most three weeks from now the trees will be naked and in only two months daylight will be down to 6 hours.

Beautiful pictures, Muhler. :flowers: I can imagine it.

Yesterday, Crown Princess Mary took this beautiful picture of Grace and shared it on the DRF’s Instagram:

Love the many pictures Mary takes and shares with us - give a lovely relaxed in-sight, a modern Crown Prinsess and make you feel the person behind the title :flowers:

Yes she does and just look at Grace, she is one very happy dog for that smile goes from ear to ear and lights up those gorgeous eyes. I am a huge dog lover and when dogs smile like that you know they are well loved and cherished in their home.

One thing about Mary, she works all the time, she is one very hard working crown princess for her adopted country and she has the best looking hubby out there, and still she finds time to photography. Maybe she could in her spare time write a book to tell all of us who think we have little time how she does it. ?

Yes, she's hardworking! A fulltime job and 4 children...

How she does it? She never has to cook, or get the groceries, or clean the house, or try to find babysitters, or iron her clothes before she leaves, or drive to her destination, ... And countless other perks.

That's where she saves time and energy to walk the dog and take photos. She's a princess after all! :)

A new beautiful picture from Mary out walking with Grace this evening and seeing the sun going down over Copenhagen:

The sun has just went down so the picture is brand new. Love her beautiful pictures and that she shares them with us on the DRF’s Instagram

Aw, a cute photo of little Grace in the sunset! No dog could replace Ziggy I'm sure, but it seems clear that Grace is just as loved ?

For a much more northernly country Denmark is not that far behind Britain in regards to sunset. Here in the London suburbs the sun set at 4:15pm today. Do you get white nights in Denmark? I know a lot of Scandinavian countries get them but I wasn't sure about Denmark.

:previous: Yes we get bright summer nights for a few days if the weather is clear. Or more correctly, it doesn't get really dark. Otherwise it's dark for only some 3½-4 hours in the height of summer.

But go to Oslo and Stockholm and summer nights are much more common.

:previous: Interesting, thank you Muhler. ?
I spent New Year's in 2013/14 in the Swedish arctic circle and I remember arriving in Kiruna, the town I stayed in, at 1pm and the sun was already setting. Whilst I was there I had to do all activities that required light in the morning because it got so dark so early.

The many comments tell how much the Danes enjoy having a modern Crown Princess who kindly shares some of her private pictures of children, nature and Copenhagen with all of us.

I came to think about how it works in practice ? It's their royal staff who administer the DRF's social media. It is them who post, write the texts, control the pages and keep track of comments and so on. But we see many times that Frederik & Mary almost "live" post a picture that they self have taken. Maybe they also have access to the accounts? I can clearly imagine that it is Frederik & Mary's idea and suggestions to come on the social media. It may also be that Mary takes a picture, think 'hey, that it is a beautiful view of Copenhagen', sending it to their IT-staff with a small text, and then they post it? What do you think? :flowers:

As you surely know there is a new biography of Crown Prince Frederik out on the street.
I am much looking forward to reading it! It should be good and honest. The book reviews says it is a very honest Crown Prince and book and that a royal biography not has been seen so honest before. The interviews with his wife Mary make the book even more personal. Muhler, have you got the book? I get mine in the coming week.

Here are some of the private photos we see in the book :flowers:

:previous: The biography seems really interesting, I wonder if it will ever be published in English. Here's hoping it will be successful because I can't read Danish :D

The unseen photo of Josephine and Frederik is adorable. It looks like it's from an official shoot. I wonder why they didn't publish it.

The photo looks like it could be from the official visit to Greenland a few years ago. They had a photographer during the whole visit who probably took photos for the DRF archives, or something like that.

I met during my holidays Tourists from Demnark.
I asked about their Royals and they told me " I may tell you Prince Henrik had a happy life in Denmark."
i asked for the future Monarchs and was told " we will have a Queen number 2 !"

:previous: Yes, we'll have a Queen Ingrid 2.0, and I'm very fine with that! Oh yes!

I'm however not ancient enough (although my children believe so) to remember Frederik IX, but all indications point to us having a Frederik IX 2.0 as well. And that ain't bad either.

Summary of article in Billed Bladet #47, 2017.
Written by the incomparable Ulrik Ulriksen.

Christmas is descending upon us and that is also the case in M&F's home.
As in most schools there are various Christmas related activities during December - Also at Tranegårds School, where M&F's children are going. For the twins it will be the first time they will have school-Christmas events with the big children.
The school Christmas tree will be decorated by the 0. graders, among them Vincent and Josephine.

Christian being a 6th grader will be involved in the Lucia procession on 13th December. Christian will be in the procession as well, albeit not as the Lucia-bride...

On Mondays and Fridays through December there will communal singing of Christmas songs and psalms at the school, in the morning.

The school will go to the nearby Hellerup Church to mark the end of the year, before the go on Christmas holiday. Parent may attend as well - so we may see M&F, even though I doubt it.

It's almost become a tradition for M&F plus children to go to Tivoli in December as well.

The Crown Prince Family travels to Australian this Christmas

It's official:
This Christmas, Crown Prince Frederik and Crown Princess Mary travles together with their four children, Prince Christian, Princess Isabella, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine, to Australia to celebrate Christmas with Crown Princess Mary's family :flowers:

The Crown Prince family change every year between, like many other families, to spend Christmas with Frederik's family and Mary's family.

Thank you Roskilde for this update.

So close to Christmas already and we hadn't heard a whisper of this down here in Australia as far as I'm aware.

Shouldn't have been suprised though - indeed here every second year, 2011, 2013, 2015 and now 2017.

I suppose with Frederik here for the Hamilton Island yacht race a few months ago, I assumed that was this year's trip and Mary didn't make it.

I wonder if they will spend their time together here in Australia, or all go off to a resort in Fiji or something.

Are there any official details, or is it to be kept as private as possible.

Due back early in the New Year for the usual official occasions I guess.

We're having a hot, dry summer already in a lot of the country, so hopefully a lot of beach days.

Thanks for the photo too - great to see Mary's family included.

:previous: And that is only right and fair.
Once Mary becomes queen she may not have the opportunity to visit Australia that often, not even at Christmas.
I think the Danes would expect our regent couple to celebrate Christmas in DK most years.

It's a question of adherence. The current Regent Couple usually celebrate Christmas at Marselisborg, confirming their adherence to Aarhus and Jutland.

Previous: I agree so glad she can come back to Australia. She won’t be able to do it later. It’s going to be a really hot Christmas here

Last year F&M and children touched down in Australia around the December 6-7th, and had 3 weeks there.

We must see today when the royal calendar gets updated.. when F&M and children seems to travel this Christmas. I can see Frederik is regent until 10th December - I guess the family will travels here after.

They started in Perth last time, then travelled across to the Gold Coast and then down the coast to Byron Bay, where they spent the majority of their time. It will be interesting to see where they end up during this trip!
