She worked up to two days before her death. She fullfilled her dedication of service.
I can't quite take it in. I keep crying, and I'm doing a double take at the announcements relating to "the King and the Queen Consort". Liz Truss will be making a statement shortly - of all the times to have a brand new Prime Minister.
As the Queen said herself, the whole of her life was dedicated to duty. There will never again be anyone like her. It's hard to imagine the world without her in it.
Much love to everyone tonight. A lot of people all over the world will be feeling this loss.
Presumably that is how he wants to be known. The UK Prime Minister referred to Charles as "King Charles III"

Windsor Castle just now. I was taking the photo of the rainbow just as the flag was lowered, before the sad news was officially announced. So for a very few moments the people of Windsor knew before the rest of the nation, which somehow feels appropriate.
Huw Edwards tripping over the word "King". "Statement from the King, uh, Charles who just became King as soon as his mother died..."
That's how I'm feeling, it's totally surreal that on Monday it was HM The Queen and PM Boris Johnson and now Thursday it's HM The King and PM Liz Truss.
Maybe the note handed to Liz Truss was already "London Bridge" and they were only holding on the announcement. Mrs Truss now officially becomes Queen Elizabeth II's last Prime Minister and the new King's first.
The Spanish Royal House has published the official telegram that King Felipe VI has sent to, now his British counterpart, Charles III.
"Your Majesty, dearest Charles, deeply saddened by the sad news of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, your beloved Mother, I want to convey to Your Majesty and to the British people, on behalf of myself and the Spanish Government and people, our condolences".
"Without a doubt, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth has witnessed, written and shaped many of the most relevant chapters in our world's history over the last seven decades. Her sense of duty, her commitment and a lifetime of dedication serving the people of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland, they were an example to all of us and will remain a strong and valuable legacy for future generations. Queen Letizia and I send Your Majesty and the entire Family our love and prayers. All You are in our hearts and thoughts. We will miss her so much."

King Felipe could not have worded it more beautifully. Very poignant. Long Live King Charles III!
First reigning monarch to die in Scotland since James V in 1542."London Bridge" was if the Queen died in England, but as she died in Scotland the code was "Operation Unicorn."
