:previous: Wasn't Marina Doria an independently wealthy heiress?
Marina comes from a wealthy family while VE inherited from his parents and from his business. He studied Economics and after working in some Banks in Geneva, he worked with other entrepreneurs as an intermediary and a broker. He played the intermediary in the sale of helicopters to Iran being himself a close friend of the Shah of Persia.

Now it all makes sense!

So, this is why Emanuele Filiberto was also named Reza Ciro (Cyrus)!
And his parents were married in Tehran after all!

Has Prince Vittorio Emanuele been buried in Superga in the end? I’ve seen no updates on this regard. Thanks

Emmanuel's sister Princess Maria Gabriella of Savoy almost became married to the Shah and had the Pope not opposed she would have been the Empress of Iran instead of Empress Farah Diba. That would have made the Pahlavis to be relatives with almost every crown in Europe. And before that she almost married future King Juan Carlos but Franco opposed to her as future Queen of Spain.

Yes, he was interred at the royal crypt in Superga.

Wasn't he cremated due to a shortage of space and his ashes were then placed at the Royal Crypt.
He has been indeed cremated soon after his funeral, but his ashes have not been placed in the Royal Crypt.
The family initially wanted them to be placed behind the altar in the main hall, near to the grave of King Carlo Alberto, but this project has been rejected by the Department of National Heritage and Cultural Activities. Two more projects have been proposed by the family for the grave, but the final one has not yet been approved.
In the meanwhile, the ashes are kept by his family, in an undisclosed location.
All this have been told by Emanuele Filiberto in an interview to newspaper Corriere della Sera:

Statement:
"The remains of His Royal Highness Victor Emmanuel, Duke of Savoy and the Prince of Naples, have now been buried – in good shape strictly private – inside the Royal Crypt of the Basilica of Superga in Turin, in the presence of His Royal Highness Emanuele Filiberto, Duke of Savoy, Prince of Piedmont and Prince of Venice.
Soon, at the same basilica and on a date to be previously communicated, a celebration will be organized of suffrage.
His Royal Highness Prince Emanuele Filiberto thanks again, alongside the institutions that have made possible the respect for the last wishes of the late Prince regarding the burial according to the tradition of the House of Savoy, in recent months, they have shared in the grief and mourning of the Royal Family, with particular gratitude to the many Italians – and, among these, to the many people of Turin - who have expressed their condolences."
