I like this dress, nice colour and style. Mary was very lovely

So is it a belt or a sash? I assumed it was a belt but maybe she used her sash as a belt which is a cool idea actually.

To me it is a cummerbund sometimes called a peplum - a sash worn belt-style!

I dunno udy but her belt was the same color as Prince Phillipe so now I'm wondering.
Did any of the other royal ladies wear a sash?

That makes sense I guess. But I've always thought of a cumberbund as something a guy wears.

Princess Diana wore at least 1 that I know of- on the white dress with black polka dots- that she wore to horse racing, at Ascot, derby day, and polo in the 80's.
I looked it up in Diana : Queen of Style. That is how I knew what to call it.
I think that I have seen pics of several outfits of hers like this during the 80's.The book called it " one of her signature styles of the 80's"
