The Fleur de Lys is a symbol of the Bourbon dynasty from which the Bulgarian royal family is descended through Marie Louise, the first Princess of Bulgaria, who was a daughter of the Duke of Parma and through her mother-in-law Clementine who was the daughter of the King of the French.
