I notice that a lot of users here are referring to her as lilleprinsesse or similar monikers. I find it interesting as the Danish media is mostly referring to her as den nye prinsesse (the new princess) - when they referred to her brother as Lilleprinsen.

But she is very adorable. Of course, babies often are.

He could have just said "It's cold" or "she is a unborn child, so better not, sorry"

Well, perhaps, but the danish language is a language, in which the tone or the manner of how you say something can be more important than the actual words (weird, I know). He said it with a sort twinkle in his eyes and so didn't mean to be rude.

It's a bit hard to explain. TV2 think it shows character: "Bravo Frederik" is their comment to it TV 2 Vip - Kronprinsen: Det er ikke en dukke!

 gorgeous!!

Thank you to everyone who has provided photos, she is beautiful. I'm so happy for them. She looks so sweet and I love her dark hair.

I'm really excited about this!! how silly!!

I'm looking forward to the christening and finding out her name!!!

Thank everyone for the pictures! The new little princess is adorable! Can't wait to see the official photos! She seems to favor Mary from what I can see!

Well from what I can tell she looks a bit like her older brother. Also I think that's the same blanket used when Christian was brought home from the hospital, isn't it?

yeah same blanket as christian , but it was also the same blanket mary came home as well as a baby.

Yes, may be the baby is adorable, but we can see not very thing of this beatiful little girl... That her father are quiet looking.

To be honest we can to say that, for the moment, we see two handsome and and proud fathers of a little baby with a hat and a baby blanket... Yes we can see part of her nose, but it seems to me a little excessive to say it's a beautiful baby because it's impossible to see it crealy.

Sure the baby might to be fantastic when you see how happy are the fathers. And as Mary and Christian are for themselves handsome, the baby will be a beautiful little girl.

One thing is to me a little strange, is on the greatt quantity of happy fathers's pics, we have very few ones of the mother watching at her little girl. Nevertheless to see young parents so happy in front the arrival of their new baby, it's a great joy!!

I hop to see the baby very sooner:flowers: :bunny:

She looks like Christian when he was born.
Thanks for the photos!

Just saw a rerun of parts of this morning presentation and caught a question to Frederik - " did you give your wife a present". "Yes I did" he said. Then the reporter asked what it was, Mary grinned and pointed at the baby 'en lille pige' (a little girl).
They are both practically glowing - cute:wub:

She's beautiful, I really hope there will be more pictures of her soon, like when Christian was born. Does anyone know when she'll be christened yet? I just really want to know her name ;)

They're such a wonderful couple, cute and loving

Lovely family!!! I always saw Fred more as a father with only sons. Playing football and that sort of stuff! I am really curious how the bond with him and his daughter will be. I am very happy for this family, congrats!

I know what you mean, he's the 'action-prince', but I think he'll do just fine, because he has that sensitive side...:flowers:

In reply to adelaide's post (I can't directly quote, I'm at school and our server sucks), I think she's beautiful just because she's healthy. Anyways, I would think any baby of Fred and Mary's would be gorgeous! You can't go wrong with parents like them!

Thanks to all who posted pictures. From what we've seen, the little princess is adorable and that her profile reminds me so much of Fred. Having said that, she is but a newborn; so in time her features will still change. It will be exciting to watch her grown up just like we do with all the other royal babies. For the mean time, I am looking forward to the official pictures so that we can see her little face up front :flowers:

Thank you for the videos! The little princess looks lovely. Can't wait for the official pictures.

"The royal family made their way down a red carpet to their waiting motorcade"

(the dutch less formal, maxima through the back door, Alexander as a decoy through the front door of the hospital)

I second that! Henri, one day you will have to face the fact that some things are done differently from the Dutch royal family
Thank God - I say - for informality and spontaneity (as in meeting the press wearing the clothes Frederik was happening to wear....) and just share the joy of the moment.
The more formal 'presentation' will be tomorrow where Frederik will no doubt wear his suit and the press be allowed to take pics - the way it has been with the last 4 births in the DRF.
We don't complain because other royal houses do not present new members in the same way;)

Well I agree with Adelaide! We haven't seen so mucht of this new Princess, so we cannot say she is so beautiful! And IMO when Christian was born we was not so beautiful, he had a yellow skin (he had icterus) and his face was very strange and IMO not very pretty at all! But since he grow up we could see a very beautiful Christian, with beautiful blue eyes, light-coloured hair, very active and kind! But now we should wait and see more of this new little Princess, at this time is very difficult to say anything despite that her parents look very happy to have her in their arms!!

I think I was reading somewhere that the little Princess will be christened in July. I think after the Birthday Celebrations in Norway.

Susan Alicia, I was in no way critising the way the Dutch do it merely reacting to a previous post by Henri who lamented the way CP Frederik went down quickly after the birth apparently wearing the wrong clothes. Apparently, Henri feels that the right way of presenting a newborn princess or prince is the way WA did it with his daugher, wearing a suit and carrying the child on a pillow. If I like Frederik's way of doing it I have no reason of critising the way WA does it. It's the differences that makes this royal business so interesting!

She is just adorable... is a "mini Mary".

Isn't the whole 'beautiful' thing with babies more an expression of feelings - the awe and mysticism that surrounds newborns? I would use words like beautiful and lovely about a baby meaning something more than just looks and I guess others would too. For all I know, we might call all healthy babies for beautiful irrespective of what they really look like :)

Yes you are right UserDane, but beautiful to me is really connected to physical apperance (at first)! Of course someone can be beautiful inside her heart, but with this little girl we cannot say that right now!! Well I truly hope we can see more of this little Princess soon!!!!!!!!

I understand :flowers:

i read early July also. lovely photos of a happy family, fred's face looking at his daughter warmed my heart. thanks for all the links. lilleprins has got the wave down doesn't he, what a little man, just precious.
i like lillepige much better than mini mary :)
wish i knew what all was being said during the questions leaving the hospital, at one point fred looks less than happy at the questions, then when they keep walking, he loosens up again, i guess he was just wanting to get home.
i'm so excited for them, i'm going to have a sappy grin on my face all day.
