90th Birthday Celebrations of Queen Elizabeth: May and June 2016

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
I thought it was strange that Charles and Camilla were in Gloucestershire and everybody else was in London. If other royals were in different locations around the country, it would make more sense.

Camilla had a commitment to her charity.
Prince Charles joined his wife.
If she had attended her event and Charles had joined the family in London then the small minds would have been wagging their big tongues.
If Camilla missed her event then the tongues would have wagged.

Yes, I think it's clear that the relationship between C&C and the Queen is strong enough that Charles and Camilla can meet their standing commitments without it being an issue. Charles and Camilla have the support of the Queen and Prince Phillip and that the reverse is true.

Plus, there were a *lot* of royals out to shake hands... the people there certainly seemed satisfied.

My first reaction on hearing that Charles and Camilla were attending their own street party was favorable as it made a statement that HM, The Queen is being celebrated all over the UK and not only in London.

It also happened to be one of Camilla's patronages that encourages the communities to get together and get to know and communicate with their neighbors around them. I thought it quite touching that Camilla brought a home made cake to the occasion such as any one of the people attending might do.

This past weekend has really lifted my spirits and reaffirmed my belief that there is still occasions where all can come together in peace and have a good time and just plain celebrate life. I only wish it was more contagious. :D

. . . Finally, I love the shot of Prince Andrew lining up the family for a group photo.
Check out various Family Balcony appearances and you will like as not find Andrew directing the traffic! I guess you can take a man out of the Navy but . . . :D

I'd love a photo of the royals on the balcony and who they all were. Actually, I'd like to know which members of the BRF attended any of the weekend festivities.
I didn't recognise all those on the balcony or all who worshipped at St Pauls.
Was the Duchess of Kent celebratng? I didn't see Gary Lewis or David Linley.
Where can I go to see close up pictures and names?

The Queen looked magnificent. Eugenie was a fashion star and I loved Serena Linley's hat. All appeared very joyous.

I would also like to know who was on the balcony as some of the Kent side were unfamiliar.

David Linley didn't seem to be at any of the events. Serena and the children were at the Thanksgiving service but I can't remember seeing them on the balcony after Trooping. They weren't in the group photo Andrew was organising at the lunch.

Katherine Kent has not been at any of the events.

Gary and Davina Lewis were at the Thanksgiving service but don't seem to have been at the other events.

Thank you everyone who has shared pictures and links of this wonderful weekend of events! By far my favourite part was seeing members of the Royal Family interacting with the crowds in the Mall - I hope they do this again at the Platinum Jubilee!!

I'd like to know who was on the balcony too (is it an Australian thing?). I really enjoy seeing the BRF en masse and like seeing how all the children have grown. Who was the little blond boy in the sailor suit on the balcony? I'm guessing he might be Lord Nicholas Windsor's son but does anyone know for sure? And were the Chatto's there?

I must say that I'm watching the coverage of the Patrons Lunch and I'm just in awe of how Lady Louise was put out there -on her own- to learn the ropes of talking to a large group of strangers at a young age. It's a little uncomfortable to watch, but that's how one learns.

I would've been terrified at that age.

Usually the Daily Fail has a who's who pic in one of their articles, but I didn't see it this time.
I'll give it a try.

This is the only pic of the whole balcony I've seen so far.

Balcony

From L to R:

Richard, the Duke of Gloucester; Brigitte, the Duchess of Gloucester; Claire, the Countess of Ulster; Rose Gilman, the youngest daughter of the Gloucesters; George Gilman; Xan, Lord Culloden, son of Alexander, the Earl of Ulster; Autumn Phillips; Mike Tindall; Zara Tindall; the Princess Royal; Albert, son of Lord Nicholas Windsor; Camilla; Charles; the four Cambridges; a piece of Harry's head behind his brother's; the Queen; Prince Philip; Peter Philips; the Countess of Wessex; Princess Beatrice's hat behind her aunt; the Duke of York; James and Louise Mounbatten-Windsor; Princess Eugenie; Lady Helen Taylor and her two daughters, Eloise and Estella; I'm not sure, maybe Paola, the wife of Lord Nicholas Windsor; the Duke of Kent; Lord Nicholas Windsor; Princess Alexandra; George, the Earl of St Andrews; Zenouska Mowatt, granddaughter of Alexandra; no idea; no idea; Sophie, wife of Lord Frederick Windsor; Lady Gabriella Windsor; Prince and Princess Michael.

I think the Chattos were there too, but they don't appear in this photo. I remember seeing their eldest son standing near Mike.

Also, the Linleys didn't attend Trooping the colour, just like Lord Nicholas' children and Lady Davina Lewis and her husband Gary. They were all at the National Thanskgiving Service thought.

The Duchess of Kent didn't attend any of the events. I hope she's ok as she usually attends these family gatherings.

Golly the Queen must be ready for a sleep in and a couple of days with her feet up.

Prince Harry think that would've been the best birthday present for her. I think the family would like their grandparents to get more rest and just put their feet up for awhile.

I would have had a panic attack.

You've done a great job!

The two 'no ideas' to the right of Zenouska Mowatt I believe are Julia and Flora Ogilvy, the daughter in law and granddaughter of Princess Alexandra.

I hope I just didnt miss it, but although I understand quite a lot english (I'm not a native speaker) I didnt get the joke the queen was making at the end of her speech. Can someone maybe just write it down? Thanks in advance.

The Queen's speech:

To everyone here today, and to those holding street parties elsewhere, I would like to say thank you for the wonderful support and encouragement that you continue to give me.

I hope these happy celebrations will remind us of the many benefits that can flow when people come together for a common purpose, as families, friends, or neighbours. And I pay tribute to the commitment, selfless devotion and generosity-of-spirit shown by the hundreds of charities and voluntary organisations represented here today. You are an example to us all.

I much appreciate the kindness of all your birthday wishes, and have been delighted and moved by the many cards and messages I have received. How I will feel if people are still singing “Happy Birthday” to me in December, remains to be seen!
