I was recently told that if Edward VIII had not abdicated before marrying Mrs. Simpson, and if everything else happened as it did (Edward VIII didn't have issue, George VI died when he did, etc. ) the Duke of Gloucester would be King of England today. Does anyone know if this is true? Thanks...
