Maxima's dress wasn't over the top expensive for a Crownprincess if you ask me. The veil may have been expensive, it was a magnificent piece of work and I hope one day her daugthers can wear it on their wedding. Mabel's dress (the hideous one with al the bows) costed the same or even more.

I respectfully disagree with you. When you look at some close ups of Mary, you can see that she has an enormous amount of wrinkles for a 36 year old and she really doesn't look good without her layers of pancake. The same goes for Maxima, that's a complete trainwreck without make up on.
