Was there (or there will be) a formal proclamation of accession? (I mean like this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proclamation_of_accession_of_Elizabeth_II) I didn't hear anything about it.

I'm watching the BBC, which states in big letters "HM Queen Elizabeth has died", but I still can't believe it. These words don't seem to make sense at all.

She worked up to two days before her death. She fullfilled her dedication of service.

She hasn't looked well in the past few weeks anyway. Her hands especially looked bad.

Of course we all hope for a recovery, but I think that if she had a serious but treatable condition she'd have probably been admitted to hospital. The fact that she's staying at home is more worrying in my opinion.

A crowd is slowly gathering in front of the Palace despite the rain.

I understand that there was no video of her meeting with the PM last Tuesday, but only pictures. Is that correct?

I really don't know what to say at this time, but the situation does seem very concerning.

Of course!:eek: Maybe they changed that because they didn't want to get back to the issue later. In the first episode there are many explanations about facts and people in the dialogues (such as the comments about Philip's sisters).

I watched the first two episodes. SPOILERS Overall I'm enjoying it, but there are a few issues. First, I agree with the previous poster about the wows. There's a full audio recording of the wedding ceremony - which I have on CD. It's been a while since I listened to it, but I can't remember...

The new site has simply no structure: it's like a library hit by a cataclism, with the books scattered all over the place and the pages torn out. I'm surprised that some can actually use it, but it may be a generational thing: at 36 I'm probably too old to learn how to use a "deconstructed"...

I think she leaned on Philip's hand at least once before when leaving St. Paul, years ago. I can't remember the event. Maybe the Golden Jubilee.

Those rather impressive guards are the Corazzieri, a special mounted division of the Carabinieri (who are a kind of police, but... not the police), and they act as the President's guards. One of requirements to join the Corazzieri is being tall (at least 1,90 m). :smile: Corazzieri - Wikipedia...

It's very interesting, as the Diamond Jubilee usual reply was an illustrated card. I actually received a specific reply to my wishes for the Queen's 80th birthday because I had enclosed a poem about the Queen, which was briefly mentioned in the letter from the Palace. (sorry for the bad scan).
