Wasn't the Infanta Elena involved with the Spanish Paralympics in the past?

Elena is the honorary president of the Spanish Paralympic Committee and is expected to attend but not on behalf of Casa Real.

Princess Astrid and Prince Lorenz are a good choice for Belgium

Prince Faisal of Jordan is also present.

Very nice to see Prince Amedeo and princess Elisabetta accompanying the Archdukes of Austria-Este at the Paralympics in Paris.

Princess Astrid, Prince Lorenz, Prince Amedeo and Princess Elisabetta are in Paris to cheer on the 29 Belgian athletes competing in the paralympics. This morning, they saw Sam de Visser qualify for the 400m freestyle final, inaugurated the Belgium House and visited the athletes' village.

In the past Princess Astrid's children have been omitted from the official court calendar even when attending the same event as a working member of the royal family. I wonder why the court made an exception this time.

It's interesting that they make a point of stating that Astrid is the official representative and not only Amedeo and Elisabetta but also Lorenz are (just) accompanying her.

That's interesting indeed, as Lorenz has been treated as an official working royal in the past.

i am so glad some of the royals are making it to the paralympics. it seems like all the focus is on the olympics, and then when it is time for the paralympics very few show up. if the olympics merit kings and queens present, why don't the paralympics? i'd be disappointed if i were competing for a country where my head of state shows up at one and not the other.

Its still early days yet but so far we have seen :
From Luxembourg The Grand Duke and Duchess
Spain Queen Letizia and her sister in law Infanta Elena is due to attend
Monaco -Prince Albert II
Belgium - Princess Astrid and Prince Lorenz,Archduke of Austria-Este
The Netherlands - Princess Margriet
Denmark : The Crown Prince and his great aunt, Princess Benedikte is due to attend

I would be very surprised if we didn’t see some UK royals soon. It’s only a hop skip and a jump to Paris ! Plus GB does rather well and is the founder nation of the Paralympics.

Full day for Queen Letizia!
Basketball, cycling, greeting athletes and Brigitte Macron, boccia and swimming at the end, where 16 year old Tasy Dmytriv won the first gold for Spain
