I just started reading this thread and am surprised that Alexander's hairstyle is no issue here. Rather modern members here. ;) Instead in Sweden its worth a discussion. (reluctant report, link here Småprinsarnas frisyr-byte: Oscar och Alexander har bytt look | Svensk Damtidning)
Many expected it to be a toddlers' thing, but now that little man is at school and still wears his bun.
Maybe Sofia desperately longed for a girl or its simply a needs-based education the parents chose?

The discussion in Svensk Damtidning is more noticing the change in hairstyles, not questioning them. Kids have a will on their own, and I don't think that anyone in Sweden is upset about a childs choice of hairstyle. Why should they be?

Also, since I live here, I have noticed that every kid in our part of Stockholm, has the same look.
That's how it is with children, they want to look like everybody else, nobody wants to deviate from the current fashion fad. It's good of the parents to not force them to look outlandish.
 
Comparative comments have been removed. We don't compare and don't judge which children were "better looking"!
 
Julian will take his first princely mission on Monday June 17.
It is time to inaugurate the christening gift he received from his duchy Halland in 2021, it is finally ready: Prince Julian's playground at Naturum Getterön.
- The prince couple and Prince Julian will come in the morning, but it won't be so public then. Since he is not that old, only representatives of the municipality, Naturum and the County Administrative board come along. The prince will get to look at the playground and the surrounding area. And of course play, we hope he wants to play there. There will be a larger program in the afternoon for the public, says Niklas Glans, head of communications at the County Administrative Board to Hallands Nyheter.

It looks like Prince Oscar in the photos is going with the "messy fringe" hairstyle, which is quite fashionable for young men in 2024.

Prins Julian invigde dopgåva

Måndagen den 17 juni besökte Prins Julian, hertig av Halland, Getterön i Varbergs kommun för att inviga sin dopgåva. Prins Carl Philip och Prinsessan Sofia närvarade också under besöket.
