On October 8th, Princess Akiko gave a special lecture at Gakushuin University, related to an exhibition about Prince Mikasa. She spoke about her memories of her grandfather who passed away in October 2016. Akiko said, "I came to really enjoy doing research, and it was His Imperial Highness who sowed the first seed for me as a researcher." She learned the importance of doing research on her own and the attitude of a researcher from Prince Mikasa.
In the special exhibition, items related to Prince Mikasa, who was active as a historian of the history of the ancient Orient, along with his childhood clothes and diaries, are on display until December 3rd.
