Ten years ago Mary was on the cover of Australia’s best regarded magazine … the October 2013 issue marking their 80th year.

Well, even though it is still early September, the October 2023 issue marking their 90th year is already out and Mary is again the cover.

Not an exclusive photo this time.

There was a bit of a hoo-haa about her bare feet ten years ago, and about her doing exclusive photos and interview for an Australian publication, when she is Denmark’s representative.

Possibly the accompanying interview this time is republished from another magazine, the inside photos don’t look new either.

But still, a nice cover marking another landmark issue.

The actual issue I flipped through this morning at the supermarket has more cover blurb than this digital copy … Mary saying something about it taking two to make a marriage work.

It was the legendary Ulrik Ulriksen from BB who covered this event and it always amazes me how much he can get out of so little and also how he can turn even the smallest thing into something positive. The DRF can't complain about UU not giving them a positive angle, that's for sure!

But to boil it all up:
Christian and Isabella knew other young people among the audience.
The family did not go to their usual place during the intermission, but somewhere else in the opposite end of Tivoli. - So Mary and her children were strolling through the amusement park. (The pic where Isabella has a lollipop in her mouth.)

I don't know whether Christian will be a great king, but he sure will be a big king!
Christian X was a very tall man as well, especially for his time, but he was a slim man. Christian however will probably take up straightening out horseshoes with his hands as a way to relax.
I noticed he bend his knees when he shook hands with the petite ballet girls.

That is too precious! Of course she is! An official picture from the theatre – the little populus is credited on their website as "Josephine Sophia Ivalo".


That must make QMII very proud. I wonder if she'll stop by during the run which lasts until 22 October.

Great for Josephine. She looks great in her costume. I am sure her parents and siblings are so proud of her! Maybe if her Australian family is visiting for Christian's events they will have a chance to see the play while in Denmark.

Very appropriately. Josephine has shown inclinations for being a performer before and she does dance.

I'm sure they can't keep QMII away from seeing her grandchild dance.

I don't think Christian see any deeper point with horses.

Josephine rides or has done so until for at least a couple of years ago. But whether she is riding now is an open question. I guess so, because there have been reports of her and Mary riding together near Kancellihuset at Fredensborg where Mary trains with her horse.

Yes, he is destined to take over the residence at Amalienborg currently used by QMII, I.e. Christian IX's Mansion.
QMII said that in an interview to BB last year.

- However, until QMII departs for the big palace in the sky, I imagine Christian will move into and live for most of his youth in an apartment at Amalienborg.
And just like M&F I doubt Christian will renovate and move into his mansion until he has married or at the very least has become a full time working royal. That won't be for another ten years or so I guess.

Mary attended a national level meet in dressage at Heslegård Sportsrideklub in Helsinge yesterday evening (3 November). Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour made her debut on the Hanoverian mare Mount St John Freestyle.

The magazine comes out tomorrow with more pictures. They claim Frederik spent the night at Genoveva's.

What a scandal in the middle of a State visit.

Evidently the news has quickly reached the Danish press through Spanish journalists, who have had to explain who the woman is.

Genoveva has said that they are just friends, and that there is no romantic relationship. But it is surprising and stupid for both of them to walk alone in Madrid and enter the same house, when she is a famous person in Spain and persecuted by the press.

I think this is not the appropriate topic for this news. But Genoveva Casanova has already commented on this news:

"I categorically deny the statements that suggest a romantic relationship between Prince Frederik and me", Genoveva said in a statement in which she added: "Any statement of this type not only completely lacks the truth but also distorts the facts in a malicious manner. This is already in the hands of my lawyers, who will take care of the pertinent steps to protect my right to honor, truth and privacy."

Not an ex-girlfriend. They were seen together and he spent the night at her house, according to the magazine.

I generally think it's bad style to tattle about royals' private lives (and IIRC the rumours that went around about William were categorically banished from these forums, so I don't see why this is any different ).

The reality is that we don't know how they choose to lead their private lives – nor should they be obligated to tell us. Open relationships do exist. Men and women can "just" be friends (begs the question: Would Lecturas be making the same hullaballoo had Frederik been seen with a man?)

Additionally, unless significantly more revealing photos come out, these are almost laughingly demure. That being said, of course it's mind-numbingly idiotic of Frederik to put himself in a situation that so obviously invites people to speculate about his private life in the first place.

According to Ekstra Bladet, who is not at all friendly towards the DRF, Frederik and Genoveva Casanova are claimed to be old and close friends.

Men and women are perfectly able to have a platonic friendship and it s also perfectly possible for a married man to spend hours with a female friend (who he may not have seen for a very long time BTW) without it being a romantic or sexual relationship. Because if it isn't then both I and my wife are by definition guilty of extra-marital affairs.

I know there are people who have tried to come up with arguments for Frederik cheating left and right, but so far all of these claims have been debunked thoroughly.
DK is a small country and it is very difficult for someone in Frederik's position to keep anything like that secret. The press may not chose to write about (unless whoever it is is a hypocrite) but they will know about it. And I'm very sure the DK press would consider the adultery of the Crown Prince to be so significant that it is of public interest. (I.e. above concerns about privacy). It would also be on social media if Frederik was fooling around. Again, too many would know and notice something.
And finally: Frederik is hardly so stupid that he arrange a meeting in the middle of Copenhagen with a PET escort in full view, in the middle of a state visit from Spain!

While I believe M&F's marriage, like most marriages, have had their downs, I doubt it's in any immediate danger.

Give me some hard evidence and I'll begin to take this serious.
