From the Royal Genealogy threads – June 2011

This is the monthly blog entry with news from the Royal genealogy threads, this time for June 2011. A big thank you goes out to the contributors of the Genealogy threads.

Royal births and pregnancies
Don Eudes en Dona Patricia de Orléans e Bragança had their first and second child, twins, a boy and a girl named Eudes and Valentina, on June 8, 2011. Princess Hedwige of Liechtenstein and her husband Count Olivier of Quelen had twin girls, named Béatrice and Raphaëlle, on June 10. They join older sister, Maïwenn. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan of Abu Dhabi and his second wife, née Sheikha Manal bint Mohammed bin Rachid Al Maktoum of Dubai, had their third child and second son together. Sheikh Hamdan was born on June 21 and joins full siblings Sheikha Fatima and Sheikh Mohammed, and half-brother Sheikh Zayed.

Both Princess Xenia Galitzine & Alberto Matta Maya, and Prince Shivraj Singh & his wife, née Gayatri Kumari, Princess of Askot, are expecting their first child while Prince Friedrich Alexander and Princess Isabella of Oettingen-Oettingen and Oettingen-Wallerstein are expecting their second child. They are already have a daughter, Princess Filippa.

Fürst Alexander and Fürstin Nadja Anna of Schaumburg-Lippe (2nd child together, 3rd child for Fürst Alexander)
Prince Antonius and Princess Matilde of Fürstenberg, née Countess Borromeo (1st child)
Princess Maria Lobkowicz and Vish Khanna (1st child, due in August)
Prince Friedrich Alexander and Princess Isabella of Oettingen-Oettingen and Oettingen-Wallerstein. (2nd child)

Royal engagements and weddings
Prince Maximilian Lobkowicz and Alina-Cécile von Hennigs were married religiously on June 4. Their civil wedding took place on April 8. Prince Antonius of Fürstenberg married Countess Mathilde Borromeo on June 11, 2011. The couple is expecting their first child. Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad al Khalifa of Bahrain, 5th son of the King of Bahrain, married Princess Sahab bint Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz al Saud of Saudi Arabia, one of the daughters of the King of Saudi Arabia on June 16, 2011. On June 18, both Prince Leopold of Liechtenstein & Barbara Wichart, and Princess Nathalie of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg & Alexander Johannsmann got married, although Princess Nathalie and Alexander were already married civilly on May 27, 2010. They had their first child, a son named Konstantin, on July 24, 2010.

Royal Deaths
Prince Khalid bin Abdullah bin Saud bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia died June 10, while Princess Munira Bint Sultan Ibn Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia died on June 11.

The 14th Duke of Croÿ, Prince Carl, died on June 14. He leaves behind his wife, Princess Gabrielle, née Princess of Bavaria, and their children and grandchildren. The late Duke and his wife have 3 children, Princess Marie-Thérèse, the new Duke of Croy, Prince Rudolph, and Prince Stefan. Princess Marie-Thérèse is married to Count Stephan of Waldersdorff, Princess Marie-Thérèse  has a daughter from a previous relationship, Laura von Croy, the new Duke is married to Princess Alexandra, née Countess Miloradovich, they have 6 children, Hereditary Prince Carl, Princess Xenia, Prince Marc, Prince Heinrich, Prince Alexander and Princess Anastasia. Finally, Prince Stefan is married to Princess Béatrice, née Countess du Chastel de la Howarderie, and they have 3 children, Princess Charlotte, Prince Lionel and Princess Camille.

Prince Georg of Auersperg died on June 17. The Prince was married to Princess Eliane, née Countess du Chastel de la Howarderie and leaves behind her and their (grand)children, the late Princess Zdenka, who was married to Count Ferdinand of Orsini and Rosenberg. They have 3 children, Count Konrad, Countess Theresia and Count Ludwig, and Princess Elisabeth, who is married to Andreas Lovrek. They have 3 children, Augustin, Josefa and Wenzel.

Princess Helene-Sophie of Waldeck and Pyrmont died on June 20 and leaves behind her son, Freiherr Ludwig of Forstner, while Sheikh Abdulla bin Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa of Bahrain died on June 28.
