From the Royal Genealogy threads – April 2011

This monthly blog entry brings you news from the Royal genealogy threads. A big thank you goes out to the contributors of the Genealogy threads.

Royal births and pregnancies
Prince Pedro and Princess Sofia of Bourbon-Two Sicilies, Duke and Duchess of Noto, had their  sixth child and second daughter, Blanca. The Princess joins older brothers Jaime, Juan, Pablo and Pedro, and older sister, Sofia. Comte Rodolphe and Comtesse Marie Christine of Limburg-Stirum, née Archduchess of Austria, welcomed their first child, a son named Léopold, on April 19.

Princess Maria Lobkowicz and her husband, Vish Khanna, are expecting their first child in August.

– Bruno and Barbara Gomez-Acebo – Spring 2011 (3rd child)
– Dom Eudes and Doña Patricia of Orleans-Braganza – twins (1st & 2nd children)
– Archduke Philipp and Archduchess Mayasuni of Austria (1st child)
– Fürst Alexander and Fürstin Nadja Anna of Schaumburg-Lippe (2nd child together, 3rd child for Fürst Alexander)
– Prince Antonius of Fürstenberg and Countess Matilde Borromeo (1st child)

– Princess Maria Lobkowicz and Vish Khanna – August 2011 (1st child)

Royal engagements and weddings

Prince Joshua Paul von Lobkowicz, son of Prince Mark von Lobkowicz, and Dawn Malkiewicz, as well as Prince Christian-Henri of Stolberg-Stolberg and Katherine Jacobs announced their engagements in April. The long awaited wedding of Prince William of Wales and Catherine Middleton took place on April 29.

Royal Deaths
Count Wilhelm zu Stolberg-Stolberg died in Portugal on April 3, aged 83. He leaves behind three children. Princess Seeta bint Abdul Aziz Al-Saud, the 80-year-old sister of King Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz, died after a long illness on April 13. She married Prince Abdullah bin Muhammad, and leaves behind three children, Princes Faisal and Fahd and Princess Noura. The 40th Maharaja of Jaipur, Brigader Sawai Bhawani Singh Bahadur, passed away on April 16, aged 79. Princess Teresa d’Orleans-Bragança died on April 18, at the age of 91. She leaves behind two daughters and two granddaughters.
