People from all walks of life have been arrested due to the Extinction Rebellion protests - the vast majority come from wealthier backgrounds and are older, like Esmeralda. She's done a lot of campaigns for different causes as a royal but it's surprising to see her in a more "physical" protest group like Extinction Rebellion.

:previous:Why? What difference would that have made?:ermm:

Interview with the Honduran pharmacologist, Salvador Moncada about Covid 19: not trusting in a vaccine, simply following restrictive measures to the letter, leading a healthy life. It is necessary to change lifestyle, cultivate a positive and supportive attitude among all."

Princess Esmeralda about the Earth Overshoot Day 2020:

"On #EarthOvershootDay2020 when humanity’s resources consumption exceeds Earth’s ability to regenerate them that year I want to highlight the tragedy in the #Amazon for indigenous people & the environment"

The Princess looks very like her late mother.

And this young girl and boy are their children?

"Without the local communities in Bangladesh, but also around the world, we won't be able to solve #ClimateCrisis. We have to work in close partnership with them," - HRH princess Esmeralda
, Chair, Friendship Belgium expresses her thoughts on our film on #ClimateAdaptation"

I agree with the Princess.

So let's start with Belgium and its brutal colonial past. A formal apology and asking for forgiveness would be nice. Perhaps financial reparations to people of the Congo..that wouldn't be a bad idea either.

What criteria qualified the princess to be admitted to the conference, since she is not representing the King?

:previous:

As she's a freelance journalist and fights for the protection of the environment, women's rights and indigenous peoples since some years now, I think she has a lot of contacts herself and she's independent from any royal orders.

Yesterday, November 9, she spoke at an COP26 event "on GenderDay about climate justice, colonialism & the need for solidarity & sisterhood":
