In the afternoon Finnish Schools on the Move project was presented to Daniel at the Juvanpuisto School, how schoolchildren can be encouraged to move more.
Prince Daniel visited Espoo at Juvanpuisto School. Daniel is in Finland getting acquainted with Finnish teaching and functional teaching.
The visit of Daniel raised a lot of interest in pupils and the smallest pupils were curious about what the title of Daniel is.
- Is that the king? children asked.
Daniel got to know the school in a classroom where the pupils don't sit at traditional pulpits, but schoolchildren can choose to work with standing or, for example, sitting on a gym ball.
- Many of you seem pretty active. What are you doing now? And you have activity trackers in your wrists, Daniel noted.
Daniel was presented with how the wristband measures the activity of schoolchildren during the school day.
Daniel made the pupils laugh by joking that the activity wristband would be a great tool to measure both his and Crown Princess Victoria's little Oscar boy during the day.
- I have a 2 year old boy and if I would give that to him ... Daniel grinned and demonstrated how lively Oscar was running around.
In the gym, Daniel was shown how students should move according to a particular heart rate zone. Children demonstrate how to increase the heart rate with lunges, jumping jacks and abdominal movements.
- I'm impressed, Daniel admirers.
Daniel talked to a pupil who had to get high heart rate. The prince said him to make lunges the other end of the hall and back.
- Well, how does it look, the prince asked the boy after the exercise.
- It's a good business, Daniel guided when the heartbeat had risen.
Daniel's guides were Iisak and Tinja from the 9th grade, they told Daniel that he was very relaxed, kind and easy to approach.
- Yesterday had to put Netflix in swedish to know the best phrases, Iisakki told Ilta-Sanomat about preparing for the prince's visit.
The 15-year-old student was not nervous about the visit of the prince.
- We watched a little bit about School on the Move. The best is to improvise.
Daniel talked with the young people for a long time and asked about the School on the Move project.
- Daniel was terribly interested in the Schoon on the project and how we work here. He was really relaxed, says Isaac.
- I wasn't nervous about meeting him. Daniel was relaxed and friendly, Tinja said.

Hufvudstadsbladet tells that Daniel and finnish minister Sampo Terho talked about ice hockey. Minister Terho spoke english with Daniel.
Hufvudstadsbladet asked Daniel:
How does the prince think Sweden is doing the ice hockey world championships?
- I believe in victory but Finland will be our hardest opponent. Only in ice hockey contexts we are not friends.
As a gift Daniel got a book where the students had written down their own thoughts about well-being, a blue and white beach ball and a cloth box with Drumsö motive.

The royal court about the visit:

Prince Daniel visited with a delegation from the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs, Swedish Association of Local Authorities and Regions as well as Generation Pep Helsinki and Espoo to take part in the Finnish program Schools on the Move.
The goal is for all elementary school students to move for at least 60 minutes a day. Activities at schools include activities for active breaks, physical activity as part of teaching and so-called active school transport.
In the morning, the Prince with delegation was received by Finland's Minister for European Affairs, Culture and Sport Sampo Terho and Mayor of Helsinki Jan Vapaavuori at the Drumsö School in Helsinki.
Then the Prince was directed by the rectors Anna-Maria Rosenqvist and Ronnie Rehn together with two students. The delegation from Sweden visited classrooms where students and teachers demonstrated how physical activity is integrated into teaching. The tour continued with visits to the schoolyard and gymnastics hall.
During lunch, the Prince and the delegation subsequently met with representatives from schools in Kotka, Pedersöre, Hämeenlinna and Seinäjoki, as well as officials from the Ministry of Education, regional authorities and other organizations working with the Schools on the Move.
The afternoon was spent at Juvanpuisto school in Espoo, where the delegation was received by Rector Vesa Äyräs, Municipal Education Director Kaisu Toivonen and two students. Then followed tour in the school, and the Prince met, among other things, high school students who were physically active during class, for example by sitting on a motion cycle.
In the end, the Prince met students who had a health education in the gym. During the lesson, students were given a heart rate monitor and, at the end of the lesson, they were able to discuss their results.

That is such an adorable picture of Estelle looking at something so serious and deep in thought while holding her phone........what a delightful young lady she is becoming....

Thanks, LadyFinn. :flowers:

To me it clearly looks like Daniel (as any normal human being would) is thinking: "I don't know what the hoot that is! But I'd better look interested... - Wish I was in Copenhagen enjoying a cold beer..."

Royal gloss at the opening of Special Olympics Games
This year's Special Olympics Games in Gothenburg were opened with a big pomp and circumstance in Lisebergshallen during Friday night.
In addition to 900 athletes, Prince Daniel was also in place.
- I feel excited for standing here, and I will not even compete, said the prince in his opening speech.
Artists Jessica Andersson and Erik Segerstedt performed in the gaps that arose between the moments where the athletes were allowed to go parade up the stage, sport for sports, and receive the applause of their fellow athletes
Prince Daniel was seen doing high-fives with athletes when they went off the stage. To many in the audience, the prince's presence was a highlight in the evening and when it was time for him to keep his speech there were many in the audience who shouted his name.
The Prince began his speech to show his appreciation for those involved in the competitions of the coming days:
- I see 900 enthusiastic athletes, parents, volunteer leaders in front of me, all of you who struggle so hard, to make sport accessible to everyone. What is most obvious is your fight. It feels like it lights up throughout Lisebergshallen, said Prince Daniel.
The Prince also talked about the importance of doing his best and having fun:
- Another thing that is great is the feeling when you are doing your utmost, but even though you are doing your utmost, it's not certain that you win. As long as you do your best you are always one winner. I think you should take that with you, to do your best and have fun.
After the prince's speech a torch was lit and thus the games were opened.

The School of Economics and Management at Lund University at their website about Daniel's visit.
Prince Daniel inspired future entrepreneurs
On May 31, Prince Daniel visited the School of Economics and Management with his project Prince Daniel's Fellowship, which supports young entrepreneurs. Many students had gathered to listen, get inspired and get tips for the realization of their entrepreneurial dreams.
Experienced entrepreneurs
During the visit to the Economics School, Prince Daniel discussed with entrepreneurs Niklas Adalberth, Lisa Lindström and Estelle Bodén, who in turn told about their careers and experiences.
- You who sit here will either be employed by or themselves being an entrepreneur in the future. What do you choose, Prince Daniel said to the gathered students in the Crafoord Hall.
The discussion touched on many interesting issues such as what is most important to consider when starting new companies, how to tackle adversities and how the funding can go.
Finding a co-founder to the companies that are different oneself, not to let adversities break you down, to quickly test their ideas on customers and dare to go beyond their comfort zone were some of the smart tips delivered during the conversation.
Finally, Prince Daniel wanted to know what his successful inspirators wish for they had known about entrepreneurship when they were in their 20s. The question led to the discussion of recruitment and personal development.
After the lecture talk, Prince Daniel participated in the round table discussions in collaboration with the experienced entrepreneurs. The conversation became intense, with many personal questions from the students came to both the Prince and the entrepreneurs.
Walking between schools and museums
The Prince's and his Fellowships day in Lund started with similar conversations about entrepreneurship at the upper secondary school Katedralskolan. Then they walked through Lund for viewing and had lunch at the Skissernas museum (Museum of Artistic Process and Public Art) before the promenade continued to the School of Economics and Management.
Prins Daniel inspirerade blivande entreprenörer _ Ekonomihögskolan vid Lunds universitet

Royal tips on entrepreneurship
Prince Daniel's advice to young entrepreneurs today: Get started and dare to try. On Thursday he visited Lund and Lund University to speak entrepreneurship.
Crafoord Hall at the Economics School. It's closer to 30 degrees outside, slightly cooler inside. The hall is almost full, the atmosphere is expectant. Every time the door opens, the hall is silent and people are looking forward to the entrance. It is a royal visit.
It is Prince Daniel's Fellowship which Lund University on Thursday. The project, run by the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences in collaboration with Prince Daniel, will support and inspire young entrepreneurs. As part of the business, visits to universities include well-known entrepreneurs along with Prince Daniel discussing entrepreneurship.
Just after the delay, Prince Daniel enters the Crafoord Hall. In addition, entrepreneurs Lisa Lindström, Estelle Bodén and Niklas Adalberth will also come. The four take place at the front of the hall and soon the conversation starts - moderated by the Prince himself.
It is a relaxed event. The Prince asks open questions and comments on the entrepreneurs' answers.
The entrepreneurs answer questions from Prince Daniel and the audience about entrepreneurship and about their own journey. Most often, the answers are mixed with fun stories, making the conversation humorous and relaxed.
Niklas Adalberth, one of the founders of IT company Klarna, tells us how he had a sense of entrepreneurship at an early age. He and some friends began in the 15's to produce and sell counterfeit and fake coupons. The deals went well but they ended up fast and Niklas Adalberth was fined.
Niklas Adalberth tells us that he is no longer driven by making money today. He has left Klarna and focuses on his new foundation Norrsken, which supports entrepreneurs who try to solve difficult societal challenges.
Following the lecture, round table talks were on the agenda. Here the students get the opportunity to ask more concrete questions based on their own circumstances.
The Prince takes a lot of interest in the students' questions and gives concrete advice, such as where they can send their texts and who they can try to contact.
Despite a shortage of time, Lundagård gets to ask something from the prince. So while in a cluster of Prince staff, Säpo agents, students who want to take selfies and University's principal who hands over a gift, we move down for a spiral staircase and out in the parking lot, Lundagård asks Prince Daniel about what advice he wants to give for young entrepreneurs today:
- It is important that students dare to try. Do not wait without getting started, he says.

The Royal court at their website:
Since 2008, the Heart-Lung Foundation annually a research grant of SEK 15 million, for three years. The grant is given to pioneering Swedish cardiovascular research, which is considered to be of great importance to patients.
This year's research grant is awarded to Ulf Hedin, Professor of Experimental Vascular Surgery at Karolinska Institutet, for his research on vein degreasing and unstable plaques. A research that is of major importance for future risk identification and treatment of patients at risk of heart attack or stroke. Heart attack and stroke caused by atherosclerosis is the dominant cause of death in the world. Professor Ulf Hedin's research charts biological processes that control the stability of atherosclerosis and identifies trace elements from unstable plaques.
At the ceremony at Uppsala city theater, the Prince said, among other things:
"According to the calculations, today, the person suffering from heart disease lives on average twelve to fifteen years longer than the one who suffered thirty years ago.
Twelve years! It is a child's or grandchild's schooling - from first grade to student.
It's over 600 cosy Fridays. But above all, there are more than 3,000 quite ordinary gray weekdays with dinner and leisure activities.
Those who suffer from illness know that it's just those weekdays with friends and family which mean the most."

Daniel inaugurated today the "Jaume Plensa on Djurgården" sculpture exhibition, which will be available until 23rd September.

Jaume Plensa, one of the world’s most famous artists, will be exhibiting his work at Djurgården this summer. Sculptures with the total weight of approximately 30 tonnes have been brought from Plensa’s studio in Barcelona to Djurgården. The exhibition, which will be inaugurated on June 9, will be on view for four months and seen by millions of visitors. The exhibition is initiated by H.R.H. Prins Daniel and arranged by Galleri Andersson/Sandström in collaboration with the Royal Djurgården Administration, for the third consecutive year and this summer's presentation is the most extensive so far (Tony Cragg in 2016 and Eva Hild in 2017).
Apart from three 7 meter high cast iron portraits, this year marks the premier of a sculpture installed in the canal itself. Towards the north of the canal, below Etnografiska Museet, the work The Heart of Rivers will be installed, this piece is comprised of seven human figures in bronze in a seated position each embracing a living cherry tree.

The Royal court about Daniel inaugurating "Jaume Plensa on Djurgården" sculpture exhibition

Prince Daniel said in his inauguration speech:
"This is the third year in a row as we have a sculpture exhibition here in Djurgården, and the third time I have the pleasure of opening it. In other words, it has become a tradition. A tradition I'm glad to be a small part of .
In our stressful and connected time where we meet less and feel worse, I think there more places where we can meet are needed. More places where we can meet others and ourselves.
Here I think art can play an important role. When we experience art, things often happen within us, we begin to feel, we may begin to look inward and reflect, just as Jaume Plensa's amazing sculptures often seem to make. Or, it's a pleasure to discuss what you see, "What do you think the artist means with this" and so on.
