Grand Duke Henri received, today 30 June at the Château de Berg, the young June Mousel (12 years old) and her therapy and assistance dog "Shoko", an Australian Cobberdog.

"In Australia, "Cobber" means, in jargon, a friend. A role that Shoko fulfills perfectly, the companion on whom June Mousel permanently counts because he is educated to recognize hypo/hyperglycaemia. The reassuring presence of her dog allows her young protege to anticipate and avoid crises, thus enormously improving her quality of life."

I'm Australian. Never heard of a "Cobberdog" until now. Turns out its just a Labradoodle. Is it a branding thing for the EU market? Trademark issue? Maybe Labradoodle is a different breed elsewhere?
The whole portmanteau naming of crossbreeds can create some silly names, but Cobberdog isn't much better.

As summer draws to a close, many species of birds nesting in Luxembourg are preparing for their big trip south. Last night, the Grand Duke Henri went to the "Schlammwiss" nature reserves of the "Foundation Hëllef fir d'Natur" to observe the ballet of migratory birds and more particularly that of swallows.

The family mill, the “Moulins de Kleinbettingen”, celebrated its 101st anniversary this afternoon 16 September. On this occasion, the cereal product processor organized an academic session to which the Grand Duke, Mr. Fernand Etgen, President of the Chamber of Deputies and Mr. Xavier Bettel, Prime Minister were invited.

This summer, the historic sunshine had a significant impact on agriculture. Close to the rural world, the Grand Duke, accompanied by Minister Haagen, went yesterday 21 September to the "De Verband" cooperative to take stock of the harvest with professionals in the sector.
