Maybe there is some family hesitation to the union, from one or both sides?
Maybe there is some obstacle with the religious aspect...Matthew is experiencing difficulty with conversion to the Greek Orthodox faith?
And last...I flinch to mention it...perhaps the Greek family lawyers or the family itself are not satisfied that the groom is financially solvent enough to marry in? He is an attorney for a collection agency. That's a lucrative enough career for an "average" person.
But the married-ins in the Greek Royal family tend to have considerably more financial and social clout than Theodora's fiance.
In any case I am 100% convinced that they are not treading water because they like it this way. The couple was way too giddy and enthusiastic at the time of the announcement, looking forward to their wedding. Theodore is at an age where having children becomes a priority (assuming she wants children)
I really hope it works out soon for them.
