Wow, that rain is heavy. Hope tomorrow is a much better day. Any idea about the weather tomorrow?

There was a practice at the Abbey this morning. Charles, Camilla and William were pictred either arriving or leavng.

William wore what could be a robe of some sort (Garter?).

Scroll down on the DM story to see William pictured as he was driven away from the Abbey.

Wearing Garter Robes for a coronation would not be unusual for a Prince of Wales. The last Prince of Wales at a coronation was David, later Edward VIII and Duke of Windsor (Charles was just Duke of Cornwall at his mother´s 1953 coronation), who wore Garter Robes at the 1911 coronation, too.

I wish we will have a heir and heiress photo from the reception.

I guess they not to build something covering the entrance to the Abbey just in case. Otherwise it could be difficult to come from the carriage into the Abbey without getting wet, should it rain, specially for the King and Queen with their robes.

It was a washout for the 2012 Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant and it all went ahead as planned ,the Brits and Irish are well used to the rain!

They may well be attending, but my personal view is that they should either not be invoted, or invited as friends & family.
The romanian royal family hold a, in accordance with the government, so to say, semi-official role in Romania although the country is officially a republic.
They officially receive foreign ambassadors or give out medals and orders of merit.

But can you imagine the King and Queen hurrying down in pouring rain from the gate where the carriage will stop to the Big West Door and that wearing their coronation robes.

Have seen a Video on Twitter from today where it was pouring down like at the spanish royal Wedding in 2004.

Very strange indeed. It is the first time since almost 200 years they didn´t erect an Annexe in front of the west door of the Abbey. Normally an Annexe was considered vital for the forming of the long procession which include standard bearers, the clergy, people carrying the Regalia and so on, not to forget the King and Queen! No coach can move that close to the entrance so that nobody bejewelled and robed individual would not get soaked in case of heavy rains...! Perhaps they put up a tent or something this night like it was done for royal weddings in the old days...?!

I'm sure that there are plans in place to deal with the unpracticable British weather ,its a shame that the forecast is wet for the big day.

The Met Office website's giving heavy rain until about 11, then lighter rain. Referring to The Mall as Chaztonbury's quite funny ?.

Seems to be a british tradition :whistling:given that it also rained in 1953. But then around this time of the year the weather her in Germany is also unpredicable.

And it sent Prince Philip to Hospital with a bladder infection, forcing him to miss the rest of the Jubilée…

If i were the host, with this weather prognosis for tomorrow, i would act quickly today to put up a tent, or at least a waterproof roof from the street to the door… It may not look very Aesthetically pleasing, but if it’s the only chance to prevent the vip guests from arriving soaking wet, i would take it

Here's a video from the Commonwealth Reception at Buckingham Palace

There's not a lot we can do about the weather, but I'm sure there are plans in place to cope with heavy rain.

And there goes our hope for tiaras:ohmy:

At least it is a dressy long dress, so there is style and variety to look forward to?

Is there a posing station inside or outside the venue for good photos?

Tiaras never made much sense for the reception. It's early enough that it's practically a garden party.

I don't think there was any doubt at this point that the dress code for the Palace reception would be business suit.

And I suppose that the dress code tomorrow will be the same as at the Queen's funeral.

I understand that the focus of the ceremony should be the King and Queen (Charles wants it like that too), but I agree with other members that it is odd to have a more informal dress code for a coronation than for a state dinner.

Agreed, but it would have been totally appropriate to hold a post-coronation banquet.

Hey "what did you expect"?
It's already a little miracle to have senior foreign royals attenting the Coronation.

Enjoy !
