The Royal Yacht "Norge"



The Royal Yacht Norge was a gift from the people of Norway to King Haakon VII in 1947, purchased in the wake a nationwide collection effort. The ship is owned by His Majesty The King, but is manned and maintained by the Royal Norwegian Navy. The Royal Standard is flown from the aftermost mast when the King is on board the Royal Yacht.

Does anybody know where are the cabins of the royals? I don't think they are under with the small windows, because there can be not so safe. By the terace? It seems there is not so big place for it...

It was informative to learn that the Royal Yacht "Norge" had previously been used for Atlantic duty as the British convoy escort vessel HMS Philante during the Second World War.

End of season for the" Norge" .King Harald today inspected the ship and thanked the crew for a great season.
The ship was used both during the King's County trip to Hordaland in June, and when the Crown Prince visited Vega in June.
