Pierre,Count de Polignac (1895-1964) married Charlotte in 1920 but the were later divorced in 1933.​


The couple had 2 children
  1. Princess Antoinette of Monaco (1920-2011)
  2. Prince Rainier III (1923-2005)

Post divorce Pierre play an important role in Monegasque cultural life and founded the Monaco Literary Council and the Rainier III Literary Prize,it was later renamed the Prince Pierre Literary Prize.
The Prince also headed the Monaco delegation to UNESCO and IOC.
 
Their marriage was not, however, a happy one; they separated on 20 March 1930 due to his homosexuality of Pierre. The couple were divorced on 18 February 1933 by ordinance of Prince Louis II.

Princess Charlotte also never set foot in the principality of Monaco after the wedding of Rainier III and Grace Kelly in 1956.
The Princess also expressly left instructions not to be buried in Monaco!
 
René Gerier , said René la Canne , a thief jewels, became her Lover. She came with him to Monaco for the Wedding of Prince Rainier with Grace Kelly. She never came back to Monaco.
