Do you think that Count Nikolai will return back to Denmark for the abdication?

That makes sense that he'd remain in Australia. No, it's quite a lot of flying back and forth for someone who is pretty far down the ranks within the DRF.
It'll take Nikolai most of a week to fly in, settle, and fly back again. I think he will skip and congratulate his farbror later.
I love this and you are so right!Well, it's a note a teacher don't see every day: Henrik and Athena can't go to school tomorrow, their uncle is going to be king.
That makes sense that he'd remain in Australia.
(..)
Probably the SWB, Greek and Nordic royal families as well the Presidents of Iceland and Finland will attend the proclamation
"On January 14, there will be a celebration all over Denmark, and especially in Copenhagen there will be a gigantic celebration on the occasion of the change of throne.
Now it is revealed that Tivoli on January 14 at 18.00 will set off the biggest fireworks display in the history of the old amusement park."

So the abdicated Queen has to leave before the proclamation of the new King. Pity that there is no second Balcony appearance at Amalienborg like in 1972. There they could have included Margrethe similiar to what they do in the Netherlands
That is a full and comprehensive programme. Great to have the translation as unfortunately I can’t speak Danish!
I wonder whether any of the news Channels here in Aus will send anyone to cover this. Probably not, but there could well be news feeds from Danish TV showing the new King and Queen on the balcony and in their carriage with cheering crowds in the streets. I hope so. This is, after all, the first time an Aussie will be a Queen Consort to a reigning King.
I was wondering what the dress code would be?
As far as I remember, QMII wore long dress with hat/lace.

I don't think Australian TV will have live coverage, considering it will be 11:30pm ACDT/midnight AEDT when Council of State occurs and the early hours of Monday morning for the actual Proclamation. I think their wedding coverage in Australia was off the back of the EBU and that was in itself was a special deal with SBS as there was a lot of interest in the wedding.
Yes I knew the time difference would probably prohibit live coverage of the ceremonies. However, hopefully Aus morning TV might have some clips and the TV news the next night some more.

King Christian X (in 1912) and King Frederik IX (in 1947) wore uniforms with orders and medals at their proclamations… Queen Ingrid (in 1947) and Queen Margrethe II (in 1972) wore black court mourning dress’… QMII also pinned on the Order of the Elephant…
Now when the court will not be in mourning, i would guess uniform for Frederik and formal dress for Mary, like we saw on the recent New Years Receptions
Curryong-I hope that there is good coverage of this story in Australia!Yes I knew the time difference would probably prohibit live coverage of the ceremonies. However, hopefully Aus morning TV might have some clips and the TV news the next night some more.
