'He was not the only one experiencing the Meghan chill,' Morton writes. 'She no longer had the time for friends she had known for years.'

A friend says the actress left the film producer feeling like something stuck on the bottom of her shoe.

It sounds like the same friends of her ex-husband who were the sources for a DM article several months ago were the sources for this. They also claimed she "dropped all her old friends", despite still being friends with Lindsay Roth and numerous other college friends.

That statement that is highlighted makes it very clear that this Morton book will not be an unbiased work. If those that are talking to the press feel they've been dropped, stepped on and/or ignored, its because Meghan had reasons to eliminate them from her life.

One doesn't remain friends with people that sell them out or are professing deep and abiding and caring feelings for Meghan just to get a free ride on her bridal train. I'll bet my last cream puff that the percentage of the people that are quoted in this book that are not invited to the wedding is 100%.

These people talking to reporters or authors are showing why their friendships and relationships ended. They're not of course talking about the full picture, it's simply, that Meghan dropped them all out of the blue, no idea why, it came as a shock to them. They are still so confused and shocked, that they had to talk to this author/DailyFail reporter to try to get some clarity about it all.

I don't think Meghan's ex husband has spoken to Morton, unless there is some more intimate information about their marriage to come out in this book. The statements about mailing the keys and feeling 'like something 'stuck on the bottom of her shoe' sound like they're from that ex friend who sold her out to the Mail a few months ago.

Trevor has kept silent to journalists so far. I just can't see him sitting down to talk with a British journo and author he doesn't know, and telling him things like that. Instead it feels to me more like something the ex friend or perhaps one of his friends who doesn't like Meghan very much would say, second or even third hand information. The rest of the article sounds very much like cut and paste stuff.

Usually when making this kind of a statement, it helps to provide a credible source from where you get your information. Where does this information about Morton talking with Yvonne/Samantha come from? Is it gossip or is it a credible fact?

Basically, I do expect it to be a "hit" piece and chock full of misinformation. Why? Because, for the most part, what is probably going to be presented is information that comes either from the many articles already published about Meghan packaged into one book and the other reason being that those that do talk to Morton aren't on best buddy terms with Meghan, herself.

Its like taking Hello and The National Enquirer and TMZ and quotes from people that knew Meghan once upon a time together and tying them all up in a neat little bundle. Only good part about this book is that Morton will beat Samantha Grant by publishing first and lessen the "demand" for Sam's book. Morton obviously has a wider reputation as a "royal author" after the tell all books done in conjunction with Diana. Princess of Wales.

I'd rather a book be fair - balance for the sake of balance isn't always fair - if a person is mostly good but an author is striving for balance to present them as 50% good and 50% bad when they are really 90% good, then "balance" is wholly unfair and dishonest.

Especially when the "bad" is coming from people with obvious and transparent agendas.

I think it's perfectly reasonable for Meghan fans to want to see her depicted FAIRLY and for any negative news to be triple and double checked and considering the source before just printing it willy nilly.

I don't think these biographies from people who have never really met Meghan, who write them based on second or third or even fourth hand info on about Meghan's life, interviewing people who aren't in her life, without interviewing Meghan, are never going to be accurate or fair. As a Meghan fan, I'd rather there be no books written about her, in which her ex-friends are interviewed, in which Samantha or Tom Jr have a say.

I've read at least 10 pages of excerpts and most of it is glorified Daily Mail stories and he even incorrectly listed dates of her World Vision forums. If he can't even get that right then the whole book is pointless. His rush job is evident and he clearly couldn't find anyone to talk to really.

That quote is from a documentary from a few months ago. Morton is just writing a book based on YouTube videos.

He has indeed, and he's thoroughly trawled the British tabloids as well. Morton doesn't seem to have directly interviewed anyone who has friendly feelings towards Meghan, and his gem about Meghan posting the rings back appears to have come from an 'entrepreneurial friend' of Trevor's who is unnamed. I'm about as likely to buy this book as I would be to subscribe to the Daily Fail. Just by being here on TRF, I think all of us here know more about the "real" Meghan Markle than anything Morton can dig up.

I think he's done this book in a hurry to get it published and released before the wedding hoping to cash in on the "royal wedding fever". It hasn't even been six months yet that Harry and Meghan have been officially engaged and I doubt Morton would have planned this book before then.

Morton is a far cry from a William Shawcross. That's for sure

I disagree. Reading the excerpts, I can see that he has spoken to people who are no longer in contact with Meghan for obvious reasons and have axes to grind for her marrying a Prince as well as family members who she is estranged from who were quick to sell her out. It is poorly edited as the excerpts seem to contradict each other; for example, being a hard partying sorority sister vs a hard working student. Which is it?

Based on the excerpts the book is another attempt at cashing in on Meghan's life. This one is so clumsily done as none of it is from Meghan herself.

I will not be reading it or worst the Daily Fail's serialisation of the book as they focussing on the negative which suits their anti-Meghan bias. To hell with all involved.

After reading I think all of the excerpts, they don't manage top paint Meghan in terrible light, as hard as they try.

She partied and gained weight in university. She still got great grades and got a double major. She asked a relative for help to get an internship for an internship. She watched Diana's funeral at the age of 15(?), felt touched, and found her an inspiring person. When her nearly decade long past relationship ended, she wanted nothing more than a food processor. She sent her wedding and engagement rings to her ex by mail instead of face to face meeting.

I think that's about it, or am I missing something? None of this paints her as a bad person in any way, and this all comes from people who have not been in her life for years, and don't know her any more. That's all the negativity they can muster up?

Meghan's career was rising and Trevor's was stalling during the marriage and that can contribute to its end. Trevor is not a big name now and according to Morton he is still bitter about the divorce after five years. That TV show of Trevor's - about a guy's ex wife marrying into the BRF and sharing custody of a child - is now going to be seen as revenge porn, getting even with the ex that left him. Putting a kid in is an attempt to shield from a lawsuit.

Also, Morton noted in his book that Samantha resented Meghan from the onset because Meghan was the apple Tom Sr's eye. Cue the threats of lawsuits from Samantha.
