Crown Prince Philippe and Crown Princess Mathilde will be on an
economic mission to Brazil for a week from May 15 till May 22, 2010.


The mission is organized by l'Agence pour le Commerce (the Agency
for Foreign Trade) in close cooperation with the Regional Foreign
Trade (Awex, Flanders Investment & Trade, and Brussels Export).

Princess Mathilde will be present in some but not in all parts of the
mission. She'll participate in events organized especially in the context
of promoting the image of Belgium.

Several federal and regional ministers will accompany the couple.

Because of the upcoming elections in Belgium, federal Ministers who should
have been part of the mission, cancelled their participaption!

Today's programme also included a working breakfast organized by
FEB/VOB in Sao Paulo and a meeting wth Gilberto Kassab, the mayor
of Sao Paulo at the Prefeitura da ciudade da Sao Paulo, the city hall.

Cruz (Oswaldo Cruz Foundation, known as Fiocruz), attached to
the Brazilian Ministry of Health and the most prominent science
and technology health institution in Latin America, in Rio de Janeiro,
Brazil, Wednesday 19 May 2010. At the Fiocruz, a signing ceremony
with GSK took place.

I am personaly shamed about Brazilian's first lady... Look at Mathilde's face, it's obvious there is someone translating the conversation, since Marisa doesn't speak any language but portuguese.
 
These arm in arm pics are very typical for Mathilde and Philippe,
I also like these very much :)

It is nice to see Crown Princely couple undertaking engagements in Brazil.
I am personaly shamed about Brazilian's first lady... Look at Mathilde's face, it's obvious there is someone translating the conversation, since Marisa doesn't speak any language but portuguese.
I think that there is nothing to be ashamed of. Similar to a fair number of other First Ladies, Mrs. Lula da Silva can use interpreters to communicate with Crown Princess Mathilde.
 
Mathilde looks great-relaxed and happy even though this is a "working" trip and she and the Crown Prince have a lot of duties to attend. She seems to have a real rapport with people from all walks of life and that's a great asset.
