    Grigori Efimovich Rasputin (1869-1916)

New book about Rasputin's murder is coming out soon Here is a very good and well researched book written by Margarita Nelipa, who has been active in the Russian/Romanov online community. I am looking forward to it and wanted to spread the word. Royal Russia News: New Book on Rasputin Rewrites...

    Alexei and Haemophilia

There was no test done for the hemophilia gene, because there wasn't enough useful sample to test for both and the identity question was more important. Anastasia and Alexei were the youngest, but I don't know if they were the 'smallest.' Anastasia surely was the shortest sister, but according...

    DNA and the law

I expected one of you claimant supporters to grab onto this. However, you didn't understand the whole story. There are two reasons this does not mean a thing in the cases of our claimants: 1. It can't be fabricated unless you have the original there to copy, such as a person in custody, or a...

    Colorized photos of the Romanovs

Very beautiful! I've never seen any of those in that last group before, or some of the others. Thanks!

Reburial of the remains of Alexei and Maria

I don't think they'd do that because too many elderly family members are not going to make it that long.

    Alexei and Haemophilia

I still doubt it's ever going to happen because no one in the scientific community challenges it. There is no reason to believe there is any strange coverup, other than those who cannot accept that the whole family died because they like claimant stories. .

    Alexei and Haemophilia

I agree. There is no reason for anyone to lie. The conspiracy theories really have no point or basis. As for not testing the sisters and mother for the gene, well, JK, somebody has to pay for all that work, maybe you can cough up the money since you seem to be the only one who has a problem...

    Alexei and Haemophilia

There weren't any 'excuses' only a real explanation- they did not have enough usable sample to do both the DNA test and the test for hemophilia and had to choose one over the other. Since proving identity was the more important issue, that is what they chose. Besides, no one but you doubts he...

The Knight Report 2004 - Questioning the identification of the Romanov remains

It was Knight's theory that is totally discredited. Greg King's writeup on his view if the DNA being outdated, also on Kurth's site, is now proven as inaccurate, since the most modern DNA tests have verified the bones. The viewpoint in that 'bones' article is now outdated and disproven, as are...

The Knight Report 2004 - Questioning the identification of the Romanov remains

I just wanted to point out that since we have the new test results, this theory, and those similarly trying to cast doubt on the Romanov bones, such as those on Kurth's site, are now totally discredited. There can be no more talk of it being 'some other family', or that the methods used in the...

Could Nicholas II have changed the Imperial Succession?

I have always thought it was stupid they couldn't change the law. If one Tsar made a law another can change it. I don't think it's right he should have to ask other dynasts, because of course they're going to say no since it would hurt them in the line of succession. But look, he was TSAR! He...

    DNA and the law

Oh, Chat, there's no proof that card even existed, or when it was sent or when it arrived. Also you can't expect the mail was as rapid as it is today. You're talking about a ravaged, destitute postwar city in the middle of political turmoil, and even more rioting and unrest in outlying areas...

    DNA and the law

Wrong. FS wasn't reported missing immediately as people are sometimes not even today. Her family lived many miles away, and there were no cell phones and email to keep in constant contact. So it took the people she was boarding with a little while to figure out she hadn't just run off, and...

Thank you! That was only one article several months ago.I don't believe it's an issue, or that anyone is going to do this. The officials have now stated no more investigation is needed. We know that they haven't, because they have already told us that they did not have enough usable sample to...

Who is the Head of the Imperial Family?

Ioann Konstantinovich was born a Grand Duke in 1886 but must have been stripped of it soon after. His brother Gavril born in 1887 and all subsequent brothers were princes. How sad and tragically ironic that Alexander worried about there being so many Romanovs he had to reduce the titles and...

Who is the Head of the Imperial Family?

I totally agree. I really don't see how anyone accepts Maria's claim as valid since: 1. She is a woman, curetux or whatever, it wasn't allowed for anyone else 2. Her mother was from a deposed house, and should have been considered of the same level of nobility as the Yussoupovs, and you know...
