It is lovely and is a great "starter tiara". It isn't overwhelming and would look great on the Duchess of Cambridge or Prince Harry's future wife or maybe for one of the York Princesses.

Does anyone know if the auctioned pieces were kept intact or is it more likely that they were broken up? I've always wondered whether jewels auctioned are kept intact due to historical significance or are more valuable when worked into newer settings?

I agree, a splash of colour from authentic gemstones would have popped nicely with the cream dress (even the pretty ruby earrings). That said, unless she pulls her hair back her earrings and necklaces would be lost under all of that hair. Methinks that it is time for a trim.
