The Enthronement Ceremony Of The Emperor Of Japan

Royalist Thank you for the kind words! As I understand it only the ceremonial enthronement ceremony is public. I remember seeing pictures somehwre of it (perhaps on these forums?) and vaguer memories of TV coverage in 1991 (?)when the current Emperor was enthroned. Definitely the...

The Enthronement Ceremony Of The Emperor Of Japan

Gentry I am no expert in this, but I have read that there are several ceremonies for what is called an Imperial Enthronement. There is no Japanese 'crown" at all. The Emperor takes possession of the 3 Sacred Relics of the Sun Goddess privately ( a mirror, a sword, and a necklace.) Later there...

    Which Royal Would You Be?

Gentry I think "Splodger" has it right!. I think Monarchy in its modern constitutional form provides a dignified and disinterested face of government and a Sovereign who is wise and devoted to his/her role is an incalculable asset to a nation. Also...it would be fun to see these narcissitci...

    The Most Ideal Royal Family

Stefano I would have to say that for me the best and most adjusted of the Royal Families seems to be that of the Netherlands; followed closely by the Swedish...tho' there I fear some marital misadventures.
