Death of HRH the Duke of Edinburgh: 9 April 2021

Although not entirely unexpected due to age and frail appearance, his death will bring much sorrow to his wife, and family and country. My prayers are with Her Majesty the Queen.

Names and Godparents for Harry and Meghan's second child

But it sure is fun trying to guess. It does add a bit of humour to see what others think the name could be. I just wish other people would not criticise possible name choices since it is only guesses. No one has to like them, just accept that maybe the baby might be called ABC or XYZ. The...

Names and Godparents for Harry and Meghan's second child

My suggestion for today is Frankie Margaux, Frankie is an up and coming name, and is a version of Frances which is Diana's middle name, and her Mum's first name. Margaux is a French version of Margot and ultimately Meghan and Margaret.

Names and Godparents for Eugenie and Jack's First child

What interesting names. I was only of the many who predicted (among other names) for Philip. No real surprise there. August is a name that is rising in popularity on the baby name web sites (I love collecting names) It is different and dignified. Hawke is also a great name that has the...

Names and Godparents for Harry and Meghan's second child

The field is wide open for baby Sussex's because of Archie. I remember thinking at the time of Archie's naming the next would be Barnaby/Barney. Not so sure about that now, but I think a little Freddy is possible. It is becoming popular, a wee big royal, and it goes well with Archie. For a...

Names and Godparents for Eugenie and Jack's First child

I am making a final prediction for the baby's name. Stephen Phillip. Stephen means crown, and Phillip means lover of horses. a very appropriate name for a member of the Royal Family.

Lovely news. Congratulations to the happy parents and grandparents and the great grandparents.

Names and Godparents for Eugenie and Jack's First child

More possible name suggestions. I think Eugenie and Jack will be a little more traditional than Zara and Mike. Eleanor Isabella Julia for a girl, and for a boy Paul, Stephen Edmund

Names and Godparents for Zara and Mike's third child

The Tindal baby will have a short, fairly modern but not too far out name going on previous names in that branch of the family. I do think Zara and Mike will be more adventurous than Eugenie and Jack Possible girl's names Anna (not after Princess Anne) but as a name in its own right. Lucy...

Names and Godparents for Zara and Mike's third child

Definitely non traditional names going on past record, also unusual. Zara and Mike have a history of short names in the family, eg Anne, Mark, Peter, Zara, Mia and Lena, Ian, Linda Phil. So my first predictions for first names are for a girl are Irina, Xenia, Kyla. for a boy, possibly Zane...

A Boy for Zara and Mike Tindall!

Well, this is certainly good news and a lovely surprise. After losing two babies through miscarriage, I never thought they would have any more. I wish them well, and I hope it is a little boy for them.

Names and Godparents for Eugenie and Jack's First child

I have come up with some names for a little boy. Only possible first names. Simon Patrick Adrian I do like trying to guess royal baby names. It is harmless fun in the midst of covid, and who knows, I might just guess the right name. Buckley's chance of course.

Questions about British Styles and Titles 1: Ending 2022

I agree with the above poster. I could understand why Camilla refused to use the POW title which she is fully entitled to use, out of respect for the previous Princess of Wales. However, like it or not, she should be Queen Camilla. I don't hear of any Duke, Marquess or Earl"s second wife not...

Names and Godparents for Eugenie and Jack's First child

Back to picking possible names, does any-one think Angela/Angelina is a possibility?Angela was one of the middle names of QEQM, and as far as I know, it has not been used in the RF. Also, if Jack and Eugenie went with other family names, there are lots of lovely new names to bring in...

Names and Godparents for Eugenie and Jack's First child

True not totally rare, but George hadn't been used for a Royal Prince since George 1st Duke of Kent. While the Earl of St Andrews is George after his grandfather , he is almost 60 years old. The last Princess Charlotte I know of in the British Royal Family was the daughter of George IV. She...

Names and Godparents for Eugenie and Jack's First child

I cannot see Jack and Eugenie picking the same old boring royal Names (William and Catherine didn't have much choice but even they went for rarer Royal names). I do not see them as choosing names like Archie or like Anne's grandchildren (not double ups anyway). I can see them choosing names...

Wedding of Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi: July 17, 2020

Princess Beatrice's wedding dress will go on display. All alterations are reversible. So what will happen to the dress in the future. Will it be reversed back to what it was, or will it stay as it now is. Is HM still the official owner of the dress or is it Princess Beatrice? I must admit...

Questions about British Styles and Titles 1: Ending 2022

No, it was definitely Princess Margaret. She married Mr Antony Armstrong Jones. He did not get his Earldom until just before the birth of their first child.

Questions about British Styles and Titles 1: Ending 2022

I remember when Princess Anne was married to Mark Phillips she was known as HRH Princess Anne Mrs Mark Phillips. I am not sure about Princess Margaret, but I think her husband did not get his title until PM was pregnant with her first baby. Anyway if you want more information look up the...

Wedding of Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi: July 17, 2020

In my opinion, Beatrice and Eduardo got it exactly right. The vintage dress and tiara are lovely on the princess. (It doesn't matter if people don't like the dress. What does matter is that it was Beatrice's choice.). Small, private, no lavish expense and spectacle in the light of Covid 19...

    Mary I (1516-1558)

No need for a French noble. The answer to his heir problem was to the north. Henry VIII should have arranged for Mary to marry James V of Scotland her cousin before he divorced Catherine. Mary and James could have had children, providing Henry with grandchildren plus adding the throne of...

    Titles of the Edinburgh Children

I think that Prince Louis will be the next Duke of York, the title usually reserved for the second son of the monarch. Prince Andrew is now about 60. By the time Louis is comtemplating marriage, around the age of 30, Andrew would be 90 (if still alive, but the title may have merged back to the...

Line of Succession to the British Throne

I have some very interesting questions to ask. If the unthinkable happened to William and his family. and Harry became heir after Charles, 1, could Harry turn down the big job on his and Archie's behalf? 2. Could Archie become King if Harry refused. 3. Would Andrew become King or be banned 4...

British Royal Family Current Events 10: July 2018 - Sep 2022

Royal Ohotos If this is in wrong spot please move. A number of news reports have be saying that the recent 4 generation photo is only the second time this has happened. Reporters are saying the recent Christmas photo and the 90th birthday photo of the 4 generations of HM POW DOC and Prince...

Harry & Meghan: Legal Actions against the Media

Maybe it is time to do what one of the European Royal families do. Issue a set of guidelines which separate public royal life and the private lives of the family. I think it is the Dutch royal family. some of the guidelines read as taking photos of Royals on public occasions but DEFINITELY...
