    British Royal Christmas 1: 2008-2021

In my opinion, the Duchess of Cambridge looked relaxed, happy and healthy. Her coat and hat were classics. Meghan looked great too. The Duchess of Cornwall looked tired and drawn, even if her outfit was bright and cheerful. The Countess of Wessex looked completely out of place in her outfit...

Duke and Duchess of Windsor (1894-1972) and (1895-1986)

Women were/are often accused of exploiting men for selfish purposes (power, wealth, status). Perhaps to Queen Elizabeth, Wallis was the easy scapegoat. It was more acceptable to blame the outsider, a woman, seen by a few as a vamp, a social nobody--than to blame either the Duke or the King (the...

Meghan Markle: Wedding Dress Suggestions and Musings

Aside from the fact that all of the designs are just suggestions and examples of the designers' works, I really think it is a bit too much to talk about what is "suitable" for marrying into the BRF. Meghan can do what she wants and like any bride will take the setting and the circumstances into...

Meghan Markle: Family and Background - November 2017-May 2018

And so it begins...Mail Online published a series of “intimate family photos” of Megan’s family. There are several pics her family members that don’t even contain Meghan. They are normal photos, showing a very cute Meghan, but several do not contain Meghan and all are labeled with individual...

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Current Events 1: November 2017 - May 2018

Harry knows exactly what his mother felt when photogs got too heavy handed. He is going to be very assertive with the press if he sees them going beyond what he thinks is reasonable. Good for him.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Current Events 1: November 2017 - May 2018

They did great. In a way it reminded me of the excitement around the Prince of Wales' and Lady Diana's early walkabouts--lots of people getting in on the excitement. I do think that there is a lot of good will for Harry, and by extension, Meghan, whom he clearly adores. I hope people don't...

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, General News 1: November 2017 - May 2018

I’m Canadian from the east coast and many of us do not say “ant” but “awnt” , however most of us might occasionally slip in an “ant” especially if referring to “Aunt Mary” or “Aunt Betty”. Meghan has been working in Canada for several years.

Meghan Markle: Citizenship and Religious Conversion

We don't know when she decided to convert. We don't know her spiritual path. Even if she has never been baptized, she may have been interested in finding a spiritual home in a Christian church. Perhaps she is showing her commitment to her future husband and marriage by sharing his faith. We have...

Harry and Meghan: Wedding Suggestions and Musings

I think St. George's is a lovely choice. It is smaller, somewhat more intimate, venue, and very beautiful. Harry's position does not "require" a large London spectacle, and he and Meghan may prefer the intimacy of St. George's and the possibility of a reception on the grounds, or in the castle...

The Duchess of Cambridge's Maternity Fashion: December 2012 -

I know tastes vary, but folks are being really hard on the Duchess here! Her look is lovely, including the low heeled boots, tights and cream coat. The skirt is short but she has nice legs and the tights make everything a bit more modest. I think she looks great.

The Queen and Canada: Residences, Governor General, etc...

If the concern about her support for the monarchy is based solely on the fact that she is a francophone From Quebec, the assessment is unfair. She has taken a position that requires her to uphold the constitution so unless she has no personal ethics she us supporting the monarchy. Whether she...

The Queen and Canada: Residences, Governor General, etc...

That doesn't explain why you wouldn't be surprised if Mme Payette was not a monarchist. You refer to "rumours" of Jean and Clarkson's positions on the monarchy. In my view these rumours do not provide any justification for speculating about Mme. Payette's point of view.

The Queen and Canada: Residences, Governor General, etc...

Aside from the fact that she did curtsy, why wouldn't you expect her to be "a committed monarchist"? She did accept the post of the Queen's representative in Canada.

Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall: Tour of Canada - June 29-July 1, 2017

It may have been harmless, and to many, Inuit throat singing sounds "funny". It is, in fact, a traditional Inuit skill that takes a lot of practice. It is not intended to be funny. It is just good manners to take care with one's reactions unless one knows it is appropriate. Smiling, laughing...

General News for the Duke of Cambridge 1: April 2012-March 2017

I agree-shows poor judgment for a married man in a public role. He could have cut loose in a more private setting. As it is, his behaviour will ignite lots of unpleasant rumours.
