Tsar Nicholas II (1868-1918) and Empress Alexandra Feodorovna (Alix) (1872-1918)

:previous:I think your take on the whole situation Cat is rather spot on!

Could Nicholas II have changed the Imperial Succession?

No you are correct. Alix's health was not good and they stopped. I forget which book I read where they mention that. VM might know.

Grand Duchess Maria Vladimirovna: June 2008-

Sibyl Trawlawney. I know I spelt that incorrectly! I rather thought Maria looked exceedingly formidible at the Monaco festivities. And in some interviews I have seen of her. I rather fancy her as a modern day Tsarina. Congrats VM! :flowers:

Romanov Rescue 1917-1919: Action and Inaction

:previous:Copy that. And the communist/fascist party in England was really starting to get going about that time culimnating with Sir Oswald Mosley in WWII so unfortunately, IMO, Geoge did the correct thing for England, also IMO, I thought there would be another way out for the Imperial family...

Sarah, Duchess of York Current Events 17: June 2011-December 2013

Even though I'm a Yank, I feel that Sarah's actions and misdeeds reflect on the monarchy still--I'm sure there are those that think since she's been divorced this is not the case, however since she's still at the Royal Lodge, since she's still the mother of the Princesses, yes, that reflects on...

    Grand Duke Dmitri Pavlovich (1891-1942)

He didn't die old. He was only 49. He had always had a case of turbuculosis all his life. In the Crawford book on Michael and Natasha he coughs up blood in front of Natasha and laughs it off and keeps smoking.

    Sarah's Interviews and Television Appearances

I don't think the BRF could trust her to keep her mouth shut. And I don't think with her money managment skills (or lack thereof) that she'd keep whatever hush money she'd get, she'd blow it and be back for more. Maybe she doesn't have anything on the BRF that we all don't already know, however...

    Sarah's Interviews and Television Appearances

I disagree. I think she's got something on him and the BRF and uses it as leverage. I do not have any proof, just a hunch. I am wondering if after Prince Philip and HM dies (may that be a long time in the future!) that King Charles will have enough of her and stop the situation.

    Ferdinand I (1865-1927) and Marie of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha (1875-1938)

George was in love with Marie however Marie of Edinburgh, her mother, wanted Marie as Queen of a different country so she brokered her to Rumania. Queen Victoria was miffed as she was hoping the love match would work out. You can read about that in "Born to Rule" by Gelardi, Queen Marie's...

Grand Duchesses Xenia (1875-1960) and Olga (1882-1960), sisters of Nicholas II

Oh it's definately worth a read. Massie' I find to be fuddy duddy however he had good bits and pieces of Xenia and Olgas decendants and it's a fast read about 280 pages or so. I'll find a link. I am sorry I have nothing to report. We got the call from a friend who needed help moving so we did...

Tikon and Guri have passed. If memory serves, wasn't it Massie's book The Romanovs the final chapter that had some of them in it? I seem to remember when the DNA came out they were suspicious that the testers didn't believe they had the blood of Tsars running through their veins. I have this...

Which Country Could Become A Monarchy?

Actually, I wouldn't WANT to be the one in power to rule such a vast place. The Russian people have a curious habit of assassinating their rulers. :whistling:
