Princess Märtha Louise of Norway and Durek Verrett: 31 August 2024

I never followed this relationship too closely, mostly because I thought it wouldn't last. It might work - stranger things have happened. Odd that none of the Danish royals were in attendance.

Princess Märtha Louise of Norway and Durek Verrett: 31 August 2024

The pastor says to use roses to settle any kind of conflict? That's a new one! I was married for 48 years and I learned the fine art of compromise is the answer for most conflicts. Also, you have to learn to pick your battles. Roses could work as an apology though.

    Denmark : Abdication & Accession Day - January 14, 2024

:daneflag2:A wonderful day for Denmark and its royal family. How nice to see a country united in celebration, especially since there is such a division in the USA right now. Best wishes to all!

Diana, Princess of Wales: Statue Unveiling - July 1st 2021

IMO, the statue would be vastly improved if Diana had been depicted smiling. Not crazy about the big belt buckle either, but all in all, the statue's not too bad. W & H seem to be happy with it, and that's what matters. Nice that the event was semi-private. Is Harry still in the UK, or has...

    Prince Christian's confirmation: May 15, 2021

I was confirmed in the ''old'' American Lutheran Church. We did not have to select a name but we were required to choose a Bible passage that we would use all of our lives and announce it to the congregation. Mine was Psalm 121, vs. 1 and 2. Confirmation took place on Palm Sunday, and we...

General News about Joachim, Marie and Family Part 6: January 2021 - December 2023

Really nice pictures of the two of them. Joachim appears to have completely recovered. Also good that they remembered those that are close to the patient, they are also affected.

The Duke & Duchess of Sussex with Oprah II - Interview, March 7th-9th 2021

When I first heard about this interview, I thought it wouldn't end well. The more previews I heard, I was sure of it. The interviews of Diana, Charles and Andrew all backfired, and this one is no exception. Meghan comes off as very naive - she didn't do any research on the BRF? They had to...

    Danish Royal Family Christmas: 2003, 2004, 2006-2014, 2016-2023

:advent:Very nice video of the Crown Princely family. We haven't seen much of them this year, especially the children. Good to see them all looking healthy. And I'll bet that tea service is Royal Copenhagen!

    Royal Predictions for 2021

Last year I predicted that Martha-Louise and Durek would drift apart, due to her spending more time with her daughters. That didn't happen. But I think we will be hearing more From Norway in 2021 due to King Harald's health issues and Haakon and Ingrid Alexandra taking on more duties. The...

Princess Märtha Louise & Family General News and Information: 2003 -

Did Martha Louise ever pursue additional education after she finished with her regular schooling? It seems that she never prepared for a 'real' career. Education is never wasted.

Christian, Isabella, Vincent and Josephine, News Part 3: November 2015 - June 2023

So sorry to hear this. Sending good wishes to Christian and the CP family. I also hope that the Danish people will be successful in reducing the spread of this disease.

Princess Märtha Louise & Family General News and Information: 2003 -

Martha Louise has been through a lot this year, and I'm sorry for her. One of my family members suffers from depression. I also have a friend who is manic-depressive. He has told me that depression is never really cured, and be prepared for periodic relapses. It's good that Martha Louise has...

General News about Joachim, Marie and Family Part 5: September 2019 - December 2020

Joachim has a way to go in his recovery, and it shows. You don't just bounce back from surgery, and the older you get, the longer it takes. It's great that Frederik visited, I'm sure it helped them both. QM must be frustrated, but no doubt she's been keeping in touch.

Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of A Modern Royal Family

I'm not sure which thread this belongs in, but here goes: it's not easy being newly married and living surrounded by your new husband's family. Been there, done that. It takes time to establish yourselves as a couple, to 'put your own stamp' on your new life, so to speak. It can take years...

General News about Joachim, Marie and Family Part 5: September 2019 - December 2020

Hoping for a complete recovery for Prince Joachim, and also sending good wishes to his family, both immediate and extended. It's a scary time for all of them.

General News about the Sussex Family, Part Two: April-August 2020

Until now, I have not posted anything about the Harry & Meghan situation. I do have a few random thoughts: when it comes to the BRF, you're either in or out, not halfway. The Duke of Windsor wanted out, he also wanted royal privileges. Nothing doing. He wanted out, he was out. Period...

    Queen Margrethe's 80th Birthday Celebrations: April 2020 {Cancelled}

I have just seen the videos on Facebook and they are great! Very sweet that so many of the royals called her Aunt Daisy. Happy Birthday, Your Majesty! :flowers::flowers::flowers::flowers:

    Princess Märtha Louise & Durek Verrett: News & Information 2019 - 2024

I wonder how King Harald and Queen Sonja feel about all this. Their own marriage met with some skepticism - Sonja was a commoner, people weren't sure how she would fare in the royal family. When Harald declared that if he couldn't marry Sonja, he wouldn't marry anyone, parliament came around...

Earl and Countess of Snowden To Divorce: February 18, 2020

This is so unfortunate. Divorce affects the whole family. When my son and his wife divorced (no children, thankfully) I felt as though a hole had been ripped in my family. I can only imagine how the Queen feels. Hopefully the rest of the year will be more peaceful.

General News about Frederik, Mary and Family Part 17: January 2018 - June 2020

As an American, I don't think this is such a big deal. Was there any criticism when Mary bought a new tiara? After all, she has the rubies and her wedding tiara. How many does she need? Is this the only property they own privately? I'm thinking Trend is owned by the Crown. The Verbier house...

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex to Step Back as Senior Royals: January 2020

Diana, Sarah, Sophie, and Kate all are/were British, so they had some idea of what royal life would entail. Sophie and Kate, coming from stable homes have done well. Meghan, being an American, no doubt had a different concept of royalty than the others. Like Diana, she got thrown in at the...

    Death & Funeral of Ari Behn: December 25, 2019/January 3, 2020

:previous: Very true. Having been through the funerals of people close to me, I can say that it's a comfort, the last thing you can do for your loved one. Were there no representatives from the Danish Royal Family?

    Royal predictions for 2020

Great Britain: QE2 will continue to slow down and spend more time with her husband. She will also allow Beatrice to have exactly the kind of wedding she wants, be it private or public. Hopefully the press will concentrate on the happy couple and not the father of the bride. Andrew will...

    Death & Funeral of Ari Behn: December 25, 2019/January 3, 2020

Princess Diana's funeral was televised, but the faces of the close family were not shown during the service. We saw the family entering and leaving the Abbey and that was all. It can be done respectfully.
