    Are you sure? The Prince Consort is full general etc. but that's just sugar on the pill, as he's not King. Besides, it doesn't really matter, as the CP (then king) will be Commander in Chief, thus outranking anyone.

    But isn't the US filled with just that? Wealthy families that control all of the wealth etc.? You just haven't institutionalized it. Besides, aristocracy in other countries hardly "control all wealth". I personally like the idea of granting persons and their family some privilige - the right...

    Eh? Monarchs only wave and cut ribbons? Presidents "work real hard"? First of all, monarchs (most often) do other things than cut ribbons. In Denmark they are involved in governance - although formally - but still. Secondly, plenty of presidents are ribbon-cutters etc. Look at Germany, Italy...

The reporter made a comment something along these lines: "And as a note to republicans in Denmark, that the monarchy is expensive* I might add, that the French presidency costs 7 billion kroner (1 billion euros)...
