I wonder if Kate's dress wasn't a bit too simple. I mean, it was beautiful and elegant and I liked it, but that's just the kind of dress I would wear (well, with a shorter train or none, and perhaps no veil) and I'm much lower class than her and of course I'm not going to marry a prince :biggrin:

Tg Parma today said that about one thousand Parmesans paid their respects to the Duke during his lying in state. Anyone know if there will be a cortege tomorrow? It does seem unlikely, as the coffin is already in the church and they didn't talk about any cortege in the news.

In the news they said that the bishop of Piacenza won't celebrate the funeral because of other engagements. They also said that some members of European royals families will attend the funeral, possibly including Queen Beatrix.

I'm afraid that Italian news agency ANSA is a bit confused about the visit. This photo gallery is titled: "Elizabeth and Philip's Canadian holiday". Holiday?! :eek: Then you wonder why here many people think that royals don't work... :bang:

@ asma: I think older people just liked the song. I heard (or read) many who didn't like it saying: "My mother and grandmother said the song was very good and voted for it".

Well, apparently people at home liked the song: it was among the three finalists (by the way, I was very disapponted by the results). But I can see why many people, especially the older ones, voted this song. P.S. Yesterday the exile part was restored.

An awful song, in my opinion. It won't improve people's opinion on him. I read some remarks about him by Italians I know around the web. The most kind was "useless person". There's even a video on Youtube featuring Peter Griffin watching the prince at Sanremo and dying because of that. People...
