It was wonderful to see the Duchess of Kent at the wedding -- but I was shocked by her appearance, not at all as I remember her from even a short few years ago.

I am not personally offended by the gesture, but there are things that Royals can or should do in public places and others that can be done in private places, regardless of whether it is a "boy" thing or not. Daniel did not use very good judgement and I am disappointed in him.

Still hot in Vegas?? We visited last July for a week and I think that they broke temperature records for the month. (46C, 112F) I now believe in global warming!!:biggrin:

Oh no shame at all, under normal circumstances. I just don't think the the Crown Princess of Denmark would care to be photographed in a dress that her friend had owned and also might have been photographed wearing. And perhaps even the reverse might be true.

:previous: I don't think that Mary would wear anything passed on to her...if anything she might pass clothes on to her sisters or friends. Or give them to charities. Her husband is wealthy enough to clothe her adequately. :smile:

I rather think that Mary was handed her speech just before she went onstage, so she did a good job considering it was written for her and she had little time to practice. But her charming self shone through despite the stumbles, and it was nice to hear her pleasant voice.

She may be a young woman, but she is the Crown Princess of Spain and should learn to wear what is appropriate for each occasion. She does look beautiful, no question -- and she is fabulously dressed.... to go out clubbing with her very handsome husband. This is not rocket science, just...

Oh dear -- Daniel's first foray onto the world stage as part of a married couple and he comes up with this outfit? How jarring...nothing goes with anything. The shoes, shirt, jacket, trousers, very disappointing. But I am sure his lovely wife will gently point the way as their married life...

Speaking of fingers....Mary is wearing her wedding rings at the pre-wedding reception for the Greek couple. Much ado about nothing.:rolleyes:

How unusual to see the King and Letizia standing next to each other in the pictures and to see him guide her back inside. Perhaps a slight warming? Very civilised. :smile:

The royal couple certainly seemed to smile a lot during their visit, even when the weather didn't cooperate. It seems that everyone has enjoyed the visit and has been in a good mood -- I just loved the Prince's broad smile in Bweir's picture. The crowds have been very appreciative of the...

I heartily and humbly disagree -- it was so heartwarming to see these displays of affection, for they have been remarkably restrained all these many years. Their wedding day was the day to kiss as many times....as possible!

Oh dear -- a bit worrying, isn't it? Let's hope that no one gets hurt and that matters are resolved before long....and certainly well before the wedding day. :flowers:

Prince Henrik is a man who obviously enjoys life. It is wonderful to see.

I hope Daniel parks his dark frame glasses for the wedding. They seem to take over his whole face. He seems quite shy, so perhaps that's why he has been wearing them so much -- although I can't remember him wearing his glasses quite this much in all the years of their courtship.

I watched the tv interview, even though I don't understand a word of Swedish. Daniel spoke at length and Victoria looked adoringly at him. At the end of the interview, Victoria kissed his hand. She also did this during the festivities for Queen Margrethe's 70th birthday. It was a lovely...

:previous: Yes, indeed! Thoroughly enjoying himself, as it should be. At his age, he and his queen make every moment count. It is a pleasure to see.

And she will. Remember CP Mary before she married? And other CPs as well have found there own style when they married. It takes time. She dresses appropriately to her age and her hair is similar to other women her age. She usually looks quite nice. William must love her, or they wouldn't...

What lovely pictures -- thank you for posting them. It is nice to see them out and about....looks like the kiddies had a great time. Louise was certainly enjoying her ice cream :smile:
