The Duchess of Edinburgh's Fashion and Style, Part 2: July 2024 -

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
I have noticed Sophie has worn long sleeves and longer length dresses during this trip, do you think this is respect for her hosts or just coincidental. Or covering all bases.
Yes, I wondered too. They all look like nightgowns to me

A truly horrible combination. After she’d looked so good on her recent visit to Tanzania.

A rather strange combination of colours ,not sure if I'd have combined them all together.
It is a rather strange combination, having said that photographs do not always reflect the correct tone/ shade. Or what looked good under artificial light looked mismatched in natural light, or vice versa.

On the positive side, I like the neat hairstyle, earrings and the colour of the blouse which not only suits her colouring but works well with the grey trouser suit. Unfortunately the fit and style of the suit isn’t good -although the length of the jacket is flattering to her shape.

I find the style of the dress a bit matronly, but it’s a colour that suits her, and the one closeup pic shows it’s a lovely fabric.

I liked Sophie's dress and hairstyle today,it always looks so much nicer when in an upstyle!

Well, she IS almost 60, so "matron" certainly applies...

I prefer the second look. It’s a fresh, attractive blouse and skirt combination, but she needs a better foundation garment under the blouse.

Two really nice summery outfits worn by the Duchess in Malta.

A light pink suit for the Duchess of Edinburgh on her final day in Malta:

The pink and white is a nice combination but the suit looks a little on the big side on the duchess.

I agree. It doesn’t make sense to me how frequently the Duchess wears clothes that are too baggy/ too long. She has a higher profile these days, carrying out many engagements and representing the British royal family abroad. But frankly, much as I admire her in many ways, I think it’s rare that she achieves a polished, well tailored look which her position requires.
She seems to have significantly increased her wardrobe of late and has rarely repeated outfits, but her style seems to be all over the place. There aren’t many items I think that are classic pieces which can be worn repeatedly. For example, her many summer dresses are pretty but the majority have busy prints and patterns that may soon become dated .
I understand she may not be particularly interested in clothes, and in fairness she never look terrible, but she could look so much better.

The Duchess of Edinburgh met the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Congo Thérèse Kayikwamba Wagner yesterday, October 29, wearing a nice ME+EM blouse:
