King Sihamoni to address 19th Francophonie Summit in Paris

Under the theme, “Create, Innovate and Do Business in French”, the summit will be an opportunity for heads of state and governments to discuss solutions to common challenges like youth employment in French-speaking countries and territories.
One of the Summit’s aims is to set up a favourable climate for economic development that respects freedom of creation and entrepreneurship, while another is to revitalise multilateralism, especially through maintaining strong Francophone institutions.
The King will deliver a closing speech to the Summit alongside President Emmanuel Macron of France and the Louise Mushikiwabo, Secretary General of the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie.

Pchum Ben Festival, or the Festival of the Ancestors, is being celebrated across Cambodia from October 1 to 3.

The most important part of the festival occurs on the last day of the Pchum Ben, during which all faithful Cambodian Buddhists, rich as well as poor, prepare food and other offerings for their visits to pagodas.
In a royal message on this occasion, King Norodom Sihamoni wrote that the annual festival has contributed significantly to nurturing the spirit of national unity, love, preservation, protection of traditions and customs, while promoting the Cambodian culture.
The King highlighted the opportunity the festival represents to reunite with families and loved ones near and far.
