King Carl Gustaf attended the unveiling of a second anti-doping monument "Et Purus Stockholm" - created to honor professor Arne Ljunqqvist and his lifelong work for clean sport and a doping-free society.
Princess Christina and Tord Magnuson attended too. Queen Silvia was listed to attend, but she cancelled her attendance due to a cold.

Still active today, aged 93, Arne Ljunqqvist began his anti-doping career 53 years ago in Sweden. He has fought against doping in sport from leading positions in the major sports organizations: World Athletics, the International Olympic Committee and the World Anti-Doping Agency (which he co-founded in 1999). In 2012, he expanded his work by forming a foundation with the mission to combat the use of doping agents also in society, especially aimed at young people - Professor Arne Ljungqvist's Anti-Doping Foundation.

Et Purus - The History
At his 80th birthday in May 2011, Arne Ljungqvist was awarded a sculpture idea created to honor his global crusade against doping. It depicts the classic "No 1" hand gesture, which is used worldwide by all cultures to mark a victory.
The monument was sculpted by artist Sassona Norton. It got the name "Et Purus" in Latin, which means "And pure". Ten years later the first bronze monument was unveiled in Monaco by HSH Prince Albert II – Et Purus No 1.
Now the day has come for Et Purus No 2, in Professor Ljungqvist's hometown of Stockholm.

The King met also on Wednesday at the Royal Palace the Chairman of the Sami council in the Church of Sweden Erik Oscarsson, Chairman of the Sami council in the Church of Norway May Bente Jönsson and General secretary Anders Göranzon of the Swedish Bible Society, they gave him the New Testament in Southern Sámi.

King Carl Gustaf inaugurated today Mälarenergi's energy storage for heat. A 300,000 cubic meter rock room under Västerås has been converted into a thermal storage with water.

As above , with due respect , Lucien , Marius has already admitted the first set of charges , including the physical violence he inflicted on the first complainant . His explanation being , that he was under the influence of drugs and alcohol . An addiction that had had him in its grip for almost a decade , and for which he has had treatment . Which he admitted he had not taken seriously , promised to take any more treatment seriously . Not an excuse , and now the police have obviously received credible evidence with which to charge him for other offences . I sincerely hope the victims , and Marius get appropriate help . I also hope IA , and SM are getting good advice .

King Carl Gustaf attended today a lecture with the King Carl XVI Gustaf's 50th Anniversary Fund for Science, Technology and the Environment at Stockholm University.

The King attended a lecture on chemistry, technology and the environment, among the spokers was professor Liane Rossi, the 2022 holder of the H.M. King Carl XVI Gustaf's professorship in environmental science. She spoke about Catalytic routes for CO2 conversion into value-added chemicals and fuels. Others invited were students, researchers and doctoral students.

The reason for the meeting and the King being gifted the New Testament is that it for the first time has been translated into the Southern Sámi language. Previously the Gospel of Marc was translated into the language in 1993 but there's still translation of the whole Bible.

King Carl Gustaf met today general Michael Claesson, the new Supreme Commander of the Swedish Armed Forces.

King Carl Gustaf visited today the Swedish Fortifications Agency in Eskilstuna. The main role of the Agency is to manage the defence estate consisting of built estate such as airfields, naval bases, HQs, barracks and depots, as well as land including training and testing areas for the Swedish defence sector.

After the visit the King attended the Scholarship ceremony for "The Thinking Hand" at the Royal Palace. The Thinking Hand is an annual scholarship competition for young draftspeople, and a collaboration between the Royal Court and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts. Three of the nominees will receive scholarships, with each receiving SEK 100,000.
The fund was established on The King's birthday in 2016 by Elisabeth and Gustaf Douglas to support young professionals who work with draftsmanship.

The King gave today a farewell audience to Japan's ambassador Masaki Noke.

The Swedish Armed Forces are responsible for Sweden's offensive cyber defense capability.
The King therefore visited The Command and Control Regiment in Enköping on Wednesday to get more information about cyber operations.
During the visit, the King met, among other things, cyber soldiers in the field who demonstrated how they identify vulnerabilities in a network.

The King received four new ambassadors in formal audiences at the Royal Palace:

Kingdom of Spain, Luis Manuel Cuesta Civís
State of Eritrea, Fessahazion Pietros Menghistu

On 22 October, the King gave an audience to the new Commandant General, Lieutenant General Carl-Johan Edström. He works as the Chief of the Defence Staff at the Armed Forces.
The Commandant General in Stockholm directly informs the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of matters concerning the state ceremonial activities, including The Royal Guards.
